There was a new episode of CuratedTV on youtube yesterday discussing the market and some of the different theories/forces
In many ways I do think we're seeing a big shift in the "collector" demographic. Perhaps it'd be more appropriate to call it an "enthusiast" demographic. Nonetheless, I don't think it's a secret that most of them (including myself) are all after the same cars...

I think low-mileage-car owners are just questioning whether it is worth it to spend over $5k on preventative maintenance which may not be needed, knowing that if they sell the car the cost will not be recovered, and in some cases, may actually turn buyers away.
Fair enough, I was just catching up on this cars for sale thread and got that impression. I also just bought a 9k all original Speed Yellow 997.2 GT3 and I'll be having coolant lines pinned. I would've valued the car even more had the lines been pinned/welded.

Can we get back to talking about cars for sale? Or is this the 997 value thread now?

wasn't it always a mixture of both? how do you not talk about values when posting prices of vehicles here... enthusiasts help enthusiasts on their insight

I paid more than I originally planned to spend because it had the lines pinned but mine had over 35,000 miles so it really doesn't fall into the collector category. 13 months and 4,500 miles later it does feel like I stole it by today's prices.

I think anyone who bought their 997 GT3/RS before 2021 feels like they stole it.

Curious to see where this lands. I've been wondering what nice .1s (non rs) are actually trading for these days.

I bought my 7.2 GT3 less than a month ago and I paid the absolute top of the market. After the 3k Artic Silver auction, followed by the white 7k, I am certain I stole my speed yellow!

A steal in today’s market. Now the question is what is he gonna do with it?

Especially original .2 GT3/RS owners. In 2011, could have gotten a brand new PTS .2 RS with DZ(x) Customization Package sitting on the lot for MSRP or below as this was in a recession.
