White 35k mile, one owner 997.2 GT3 in CA asking $120k:
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Seems like a great deal in this market.

It definitely does. Unfortunately the owner is a complete dick. Also refused a PPI. Said he wasn't going to waste his time; take the car as is or don't, he doesn't care.

You sure it is a guy? The name on the ad (Rose) would make me think a woman is selling it. Maybe you are thinking of a different car? I don't mean to discriminate or anything just an observation.

Positive. He said him and his wife Rose were selling the car. She must have posted the ad.

So the seller doesn’t want to waste their time by full filling a purchase requirement that most buyers for these cars have? No PPI will likely kill off a lot of potential buyers. Is the nearest shop that will do a PPI too far away, the seller trying to hide something, or are they just too lazy or busy to drive the car to a shop that’s possibly not super far away?

More likely, he already received 2 dozen phone calls, has 3 deposits, and a wire on the way. I can almost guarantee this car is sold.

I would try to hire the best mobile mechanic in the area to go see and drive the car (if seller allows). It's worth the risk and better than no ppi. If the seller balks at that and I'd walk.

It wasn't sold as of 9:30pm eastern time last night. He didn't allude to any other offers. But you're probably right, I bet it's sold by now. A dealer probably wired the money and will relist it for $150k.

I was willing to "buy the seller" and wire the money, but I at least wanted to get his reaction to asking for a PPI. Sellers that are more than willing, gives me peace of mind. Refusing a PPI throws up red flags, not necessarily about the car but about dealing with a difficult seller. I have no patience for someone that is that arrogant.

Also I HIGHLY doubt he would have entertained that. He wasn't going to coordinate anything nor let some 3rd party drive his car. No way.

Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen something like this if it is true and it is one of the big issues with buying in today’s market. People have become so desperate that they are willing to pay full asking on a six figure car without proper due diligence. I personally could never spend this kind of money on a car and not know entirely what I’m getting. Maybe it’s just me.

Not just you. I hate to be rushed with a 6 figure purchase. I've skipped PPI's before but had plenty of time to get to know the car from the seller and feel comfortable. In this market you better have the wire queued up on the first call. That sucks more than the prices frankly.

I'm with you. I couldn't either. But dealers are snagging up these cars with basically no questions asked. This is why sellers have such arrogant attitudes. Why deal with private buyers, tire kickers, inspections, failed loans, and negotiations when dealers are willing to wire money same day. It sucks for the rest of us, but that's the reality of this market. I'm betting this car turns up in a few weeks on a dealer site, with a $150k ask. BTW, I think this is the lowest MSRP .2 I have ever seen.
