Not a super pristine example when I saw it on eBay. But at $195k, it wouldn’t suprise me if a dealer bought it, addressed some of the issues, and flipped it for a profit.

Thanks. That is what i was saying. I've owned several CL cars. I've changed wheels more times than I care to remember. I also have watched people show up to the track with CL's not properly engaged - posing a risk to themselves and others. Can't say I've seen that with 5 lugs.

I get keeping a car original but to me, a 5 lug conversion is an asset. YMMV.

yes, and I wasn’t happy paying an additional $4000 for an extra set of wheels. However today is the day that I am selling them, albeit at half the price I ended up paying for a new set of wheels.

Tells you a lot about the seller.
The seller just posted that the parts are now included with the sale. It's sort of a long story, so you can check out the post on BaT and see the explanation.

Something doesn't add up on this BAT listing. I don't buy that this car was never tracked.
1) New clear bra and windshield installed on a 6k mile car. Tells me originals were likely peppered from track use.
2) Center locks in poor condition according to the seller. They were removed at 1600 miles. Tells me wheels were likely removed several times in the first 1600 miles. Why, if not for track use?
3) Rear sway bar has signs of being set to each stiffness setting (look at marks on all holes and wear on nut). Tells me someone may have been evaluating handling at different settings. Likely not during street use.
4) Carfax shows 5 visits to Pacific Motorsports in 2-3 month intervals but there are no receipts for work performed. Strange since there are receipt for both older and newer service visits.

Nothing wrong if the car was in fact tracked and seller may not be aware of the true history. Buyers just need to do their own due diligence and understand exactly what they are getting.

I do not disagree with you Upscale, only that I would always include the stock parts for a car if I have them.

.... bottom line is that most of us on here who own, DIY and understand the complexity are not afraid of the complexity. Those of us who choose to go 5 lug for personal good reasons are also respected in THIS community.
....... so yea Chris just seemed a bit over the top in his choice of words. But maybe if we were sitting at a bar having beers together, we probably would have had a good laugh at the whole exchange.

lastly, you are SPOT ON, w.r.t Porsche shops. trust no one with your car. Always double check everything.
Yes BEER, I like BEER.......

lets be honest… it’s not the CL that we all have an issue with it’s that we haven’t done our own laundry in 20 years and we don’t know how to get the damn alloy paste off our shirts

Anyone ever hear anything about the pumpkin that Lupo Motors was selling earlier in the year. Wonder who bought it as it says sold on their website.

I was looking at that one but the price was just too high

Damn funny. That stuff is like nuclear waste.

Car looks good. All concerns aside, I hope it checked out ok and someone drives the hell out of it.
