Raised my 997.2 C4S on lift bars and jack stands for winter storage and maintenance.

Replaced washer fluid reservoir and rubber seals. Will let it sit for a couple of days to make sure it's finished leaking before I wrestle the inner fender liner back into place.

Sent my "new to me" Sharkwerks bypass pipes to Jet-Hot for coating so I never have to look at rusty pipes at the rear of my car. Removed rear bumper cover, bumper, heat shields, and center muffler. More work than absolutely necessary, but it made exhaust bolts and clamps more easily accessible. Rotated side mufflers out of the way to simplify installation. Rotating side mufflers is a very cool feature that Porsche designed and installed on this model.

Next I need to do something about the worn and scratched exhaust tips. Maybe I'll have the whole "tips" assembly chrome plated. Has anyone gone down this cosmetic road?

You might want to check the fluid reservoir leakage. I had a leak once and I thought it was the seal, but it turned out to be the washer pump instead.

Default Thanks, how did you know it was a pump?

How could you tell it was a pump? My leak stained down the seam in the tank from above the pumps and level sensor, so I assumed the tank was cracked. I replaced the tank and all the seals (only $100 from Suncoast). If it's still leaking in a couple of days, I will look more closely at the pumps.

Isn't the SW bypass made of stainless where it wouldn't rust and not need the Jet-Hot coating?

Chrome doesn't hold up that well, is heavy, and rusts. You'd be better off sending your tips to jethot and having them coat them with their high luster ceramic coating.

Also, it's not. Good to leave your suspension unloaded for the winter. If yiu want to keep the tires from flat spotting, use tire savers / tire cradles or get a set of wheel hub stands. 928 Motorsports has a really nice set. They mount to the hubs like the wheels would but are stands that sit on the floor and put the notmal car weight on the suspension. Totally stable and better for the shocks.

Here's the link to the hub stands

Been there. First I replaced the seals and that didn't take care of the problem. Then replaced the reservoir, it still leaked, then finally replaced the pump and that took care of it. Yes, simple task that took me 3 reworks to get it right.

Default Added stripes

New stripes. First time doing anything like that. Measured 1000x stuck once. Second done came out better than the first at the edges as I learned in the first side. Should have done the passenger side first so I wouldn't spot the slight imperfections.

Looks nice, I looked closely and can’t see any problems. Don’t worry about it and enjoy.

Changed the oil for the year. Unfortunately will not get to drive it as much for the next few months. Will do motor mounts later this fall.

The 997.1 kit fits the newer model well, a couple inches of the soft plastic has to be trimmed but other than that it's a slam dunk. I did purchase the 997.2 front air router but I dont think that is a must. I did trim the square holes to let the radiator vent out the bottom.

Thanks, I can be kinda picky but I'm actually really happy with how they turned out. If they need to be redone in the future it'll be a quick job. In fact, maybe I'll change colors with the seasons It's definitely something you can DIY if you don't mind getting on the floor.

Yes, it's stainless, but stainless exhausts rust.

Not that I'm in the market for one. Just curious why.

My guess would be because the new C8 is coming out? It's the 1st mid engine Corvette and currently highly anticipated.

Not following the Corvette market and was not aware of that. What you say makes a lot of good sense though. Thx.
