Changed the oil. Gosh, this is much more costly than my VW, what with sending off the oil sample and 8 quarts of DT-40. No debris in the pan or filter...and only 190K miles. Nice Clean Oily Filter
What are all the shiny bits that look like they're in the filter media in the photo?
Yesterday a few buddies and I attended an Intermountian PCA event at Air Power Racing, which is located at Utah Motorsports Park. Got a nice tour of the shop and the racecars, watched some drift practice, then hopped in the karts for a few sessions. Great morning! And then a few glamour shots when I got home...
I changed my original (week 35 of 2006 date coded) motor mounts that were sagging and clunking a bit after 63,700 miles with new Corteco ones from FCP Euro. Here's the before and after of the driver's side which was the saggiest:
This job wasn't too hard, the worst part was breaking loose the driver's side nut that was torqued with 63 ft-lb plus whatever the corrosion added. I got new nuts since they were cheap. I can't say I notice a huge difference in driving but it's certainly no worse than before, maybe a little smoother at idle and less clunking over railroad tracks, etc.

Out with the old:
That looks like an insane amount of work hope you have a lift, did you get a deal on buying everything at once? Cant wait the see the completed project.

I did it all solo on ESCO jack stands.... Everything was purchased separately over about 3 months. Some stuff here off RL... I have done similar complexity projects on VW's BMWs and Audis; this is my first Porsche.... Honestly, off all my cars this 911 is really easy to work on and things are made in a really well design for repairs.... It has been a really fun experience.
Thx
Took it out for a nice fall drive and ran into a few 911s in the parking lot while I briefly stopped by a local exotic car show. The white RS America was a treat to see.
