Had the oil changed...and took a spirited run up I-75 (hit 104) to grab some lunch (great burger- thanks Michael Symon).

Last chance to dance, as we're expecting some snow showers this weekend in the Detroit area. Ughh!

Time for the annual P-Car hibernation.

Installed interior LED bulbs just for kicks...paid $30 for all of them on eBay and they work great!

Also painted the 'S' logo with Plastidip...I haven't decided if I like it or not:

Drove it--just another top-down day in Southern California. Was happy to fill it for $3.199 yesterday with premium!

Detailed the hood and bumper with Turtle Wax "Jet Black." Last Sunday, took it out for a drive, then washed the car in preparation for taking it in Monday morning for application of paint protection film. It was apparent I didn't do such a hot job of inspecting the paint for the recently bought GTS, or my recent drives up and down the Coast sandblasted the front. There are a great many pinpoint chips in the front.

I did some research/searching to see how I could "repair" these without a repaint. I was thinking of something like a black wax, and found the Turtle Wax kit. Can't say that it gives the black any deeper a shine as promoted, but definitely hides the pinpoint chips to my satisfaction.

My wife couldn't see the chips at all, and two car-guy friends couldn't spot them without getting inches away from the surface, so a successful camouflage.

Installed a diode in the light switch so the "Home" position enables the DRL. Currently have LED DRL's installed. $1.24 mod and works like a charm! I've been reading posts about the battery being completely drained after 2 days of sitting however...

I had the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position tires installed today on the Carrera II wheels. Drove them about 20 mikes so it is hard to compare the ride. They are inflated to 39 Front & 44 Rear, which are Full Load PSI numbers. I will drop them about 2 to 3 PSI tomorrow and then try to get a ride comparison RE970 and the Michelin Super Sports.

I had Discount Tire hang on to the rear Michelin Super Sports because they have 7/32 remaining, but the fronts had about 3/32 remaining and were due to be replaced. I ordered a new set of wheels about 3 weeks ago. When built, they will be shipped to Discount Tire and I'll have the Super Sports mounted on the new wheels, which will be my Summer wheels. I can't wait to see them.

You say that like it's a bad thing!

Beautiful car though, even if it is the "wrong" shade of blue. I especially like that second picture. Your Carrera sport wheels look a bit darker than normal. Are they standard or is it just the picture?

I saw the original post of the "diode" installation to make the fogs the DRL. What kind of diode? Do I just go to the Radio Shack and ask for a "diode" and they know what i am talking about? This is exactly what I want to do.

I am not an electrical engineer, but I am not afraid to do some experimenting.
