Oh, BTW, my friend has a 997.1 C4S and he has the CH-R wheels on. They look really good. IF I were going to get any other wheels, they would be the BBS RE-MTSP if I could afford to get those! but the OZ Ultraleggera look really close to the 997.2 factory wheels and are TOUGH to beat.
Hi Tom.
My wheels are OEM NB 997.1 GT3 wheels. They are wider than the Lobster Forks but I used the same 235/305 tires when I swapped wheels. On the Lobsters, the 305s had a bit of bulge, on the GT3 wheels, they are slightly stretched. ...but everything was a very straight swap, no issues. I did add 5mm RSS spacers, which were available OEM as an option on 997.1 GT3s.
I got the wheels in the classifieds here on Rennlist!!
I do not remember how much they were but it was a good deal because the seller was unhappy with the quality of repaint. I knew I would have to repaint them but I waited until the PS4S tires I swapped over wore out and then had the wheels repainted to a factory finish when I got new tires.
I recommend Googling the wheels you want and Site:Rennlist to look for comparative prices because IDK about GT2 wheels (them being rarer).
Keep an eye out. Also check out OZ wheels if you get impatient...or BBS, HRE, or etc... if you want to be a baller.
Best,
James
Hi Man, I have often admired your car with the GT2 wheels. I am now thinking of changing mine on my arctic silver 997.2 Targa 4S and wanted to ask if yours were factory wheels, did you have any problems as they are wider than standard rims, and if you don’t mind me asking, where did you pick them up from and how much did they set you back?
