Race Ramps are handy, but pretty expensive and bulky to store... My 2,500 pound capacity (each ramp) extra long low angle ramps are about $600 retail. Thats about half way to a quickjack setup.
I've actually used them very little since getting the quickjacks, but in yesterdays case, I already had one car up on the QJ and needed another off the ground for an oil change.
Thanks, all. I will keep an eye out for a decent price on the 997.2 units and have seen the results in the threads on 6speedonline. The UK seller that was the place to get them from has creeped up a bit in price over the years.
Part no's:
997 110 640 71 Intercooler 997 GT2 RS - Right
997 110 639 71 Intercooler 997 GT2 RS - Left
997.2 intercooler is precisely 100% the same as the 997.2 GT2RS intercooler. It just sounds way cooler to say you have 997.2 GT2RS intercoolers.
With that said, I ran the 997.2 coolers for many years of hard track duty at 1.3 bar. They shed heat very quickly and are arguably the best bang for the buck as far as intercoolers go for virtually 99% of users. Good for up 600wph or so. Most of the aftermarket stuff is horribly heavy and nothing more than a large heatsink. I think I still have a couple of sets of the 997.2 or shall I say 997.2 GT2RS intercoolers sitting in boxes in my parts stash. I need to post them up for sale when I get around to it.
For applications over 700whp, the new DO88 coolers look promising and probably the best bet on the aftermarket with a legit motorsport type core. For anything above that, you'd need to go with something along the lines of Marston.

All of their products look to be good quality. I wonder if their plenum actually is an improvement, it appears to have more volume than the IPD version.

Absolutely! In fact the K16's tend to be tuned for more mid-range torque and I think actually might be even more prone to bending rods with the wrong tune...
I personally prefer tuned K16s for the kind of driving I do at the altitude I live vs. the K24s. Less peak horsepower, but big fat lower RPM torque (but still tuned below rod-bending levels). Great power on canyon twisty apex/exits, and I typically can't keep my foot in it long enough anyway to miss out much on the high RPM peak HP.
On the track, different story. You rarely dip to the lower RPM levels I will routinely hit on mountain switchbacks, and you are almost always wringing out each gear to near redline, K24s are a better choice.
Gotta say, I much prefer the K24's to the K16's. I've had both on my car and really don't feel that the K24's give up a measurable amount in street driving to the K16's. Then the top end of the K24's is just epic in comparison, the motor actually breathes all the way to redline. It doesn't feel choked off like with the K16's

There's plenty of good vendors that make full metal units, don't waste the money on a plastic end tank/OEM core. This is one aspect where going overkill won't hurt, and you have room for the future if desired.
Crappy Tire has a set of similar ones for $100. I could use them to change the oil on both the Rav and the 4Runner and I'm still ahead of paying a shop to do it...
