Yeah, that top bolt is kind of tricky, particularly if you are doing it lying on your back (jackstands/quickjacks) instead of standing up under a proper lift. Once one finds the right combination of extensions and flex-ratchets, not too bad though.

A local friend runs the XR1000s with the OEM 997.2 along with the FVD intake manifold / pipe set up. He put down 650whp at 1.3 bar on our dyno. Yeah, no issue but probably at the upper end of what the coolers will handle.

Did some digging, an old post from do88 indicate the original big pack to be 13 lbs per side, so this means the new ones are 20 lbs each... no thanks.. .
Ugh. That's ugly. That's too bad. I was thinking they actually got lighter than the previous version but I guess the Garett cores are pretty heavy. Such a huge thermal mass will be problematic once the intercooler heat soaks as it will take a lot to shed heat. The problem with all tests that get posted is that they are based on 3 or 4 pulls which really does not tell the story, it's quite meaningless actually because the core has not fully heat soaked yet.. You need to see what the intercooler does after several laps which involves 4-5 minutes of all out driving with probably 20 full throttle pulls.

Where did you see the reference to weight Chris? I looked at their website and found no mention of it. I wonder if there is a way to contact DO88 to get an official number from them.

Edit: just found it. OEM intercooler is 6.83 lbs each, DO88 big pack is 18.75 lbs each. New versions of the DO88 is 6.8 lbs heavier than old version..

I think @paopao has a set of the new ones. Maybe he can weigh them to see the actual weight.

Thanks. It appears the weights I posted above are accurate.

Yes. It's a stock block engine. Torque is only 540 ft.lbs at 640whp. Very easy on the engine.

Yes, you and me both; tyres came in for the 991 and are going on today, but the 19s are a little slow to show.

Sounds like he has my end goal setup. Maxed out stock block, but with the hardware to go for more if I decide to upgrade the internals.

Yeah, timing could have been better... I have snowies on the 991 at the moment, but when I looked at the summers the other day, I realized they were down to the wear bars, so they needed to be dealt with.

In hindsight, may have been better to wait on building new wheels.
