Gotta say that I'm really very happy with how these turned out, better than expected, and quite light.
OKAY, you have my attention... Since my dream car is a GT3, but my current budget will not allow for a 200-300k car, these will make my current girlfriend look like my dream girl. How can i get a set of these for my 996TT? they look freaking great!

I copied them from the gt3rs wheel, but if you were to look in the 19" wheel thread, there is apparently someone making them commercially.
Yeah, I was a little sad to see that as I thought I was the first. He also has to be doing some pretty good volume because that is much less than I paid.

Seems like a large ebay wheel operation. They make a ton of wheels. Looks like an outfit out of Hong Kong with manufacturing somewhere in China. I would verify these are 100% forged. They should be able to provide you will all certification paperwork that could be verified including stress analysis data. I remember there was a wheel company a number of years ago in California (name escapes me now) that was selling "forged" wheels. They had a bit of presence on Rennlist prior to being banned if I recall. After numerous failures, it came to light that the wheels were actually cheap cast China made wheels that were then lightly machined on the surface to give them the appearance of a wheel machined from a true forged blank. Certainly not saying that's the case here but I would be very cautions when it comes to anything coming in large volume from China at bargain basement prices. I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to stuff like this. Wheels like this that have relatively few very thin spokes all coming together very close to the small compact hub will see a huge amount of stress per square inch of material especially at each spoke near the center of the wheel at the hub. Compare this to a true motorsport wheel like an E88 or E07 which utilize a large diameter thick hubs and multiple "scalloped" or "I-beamed" spokes all designed to absorb a huge amount of stress. Again, be cautious, trust but verify.....

Completely agree with you - you very well may be right, pricing is considerably different than what I paid, and there are most certainly some horror stories relating to failures. Conversely, they may be what they are represented to be, but I am not sure how one would verify that, but that shop does seem to be moving a lot of product.

Yeah, like I said, hope I'm wrong but just be very cautious. Although very pretty, these large diameter "open thin spoke" wheels inherently have much less material to disperse the loads and need to be well thought out and made from top notch materials. Not sure some company pumping out hundreds of wheels in China necessarily does the required R&D. People often don't give any of this any thought as most are strictly concerned with looks. Keep in mind these are 600+ hp high performance cars capable of near 1G cornering loads even in street trim. That's no joke.

In my case, I'm not using the eBay guy, I'm using a machinist in Shen Zen whom we use for custom parts, thus why it is more spendy. I'm not sure how eBay guy does this, but I actually went and measured (digitized) a gt3rs wheel and he cut it from a piece of bullet that weighed three or four hundred pounds. The first set came from a pre cut barrel and he just cut the hub.
There is no way I would do this if I didn't know where they were coming from.

Ah, I see. I misunderstood. I thought you were using the ebay guy that was posted in the link above. That was a bit confusing.
No worries, after we digitized the wheel, on of the mechanical engineers in house ran it through and FEA, then we sent the file to buddy overseas and he plugged it into his CNC program.
Interestingly, we can do the same thing here in Vancouver with a machinist, but, the costs are about five times as much, for both the material and the machining.
