Picked up my car at BHR. They installed a Kline exhaust (Rennlist find), Wagner competition intercoolers, stage 1 GIAC tune (1.1 bar observed on drive home vs 0.7 before), plugs, coils, and fuel filter. 27,000 miles on the clock.
Just started the silver car. Need to cycle the key twice before it starts after sitting for 3 days. Better than before. Going to install a better pump and see what happens.
Clearance to rear tire is around an inch or a little over.. I think stock wheels might not fit without spacers, not sure though.

Look at the clearance with suspension under compression, not on the lift at full droop. The clearance is reduced as the wheels camber in. I know with my wheels / tires I could never do this as the clearance is virtually about a 1/4" under compression. Generally with a skinny 11" like OEM and a short tire you will be OK.

I compressed the suspension when the car was on the lift and the clearance stayed around the same where it's the closest to the wheel. Ive also driven the car on the road and there was no rub.
Modern engines are all tied together since they run on torque demand maps. Engine and trans have to talk to each other. Hell even nav systems are being integrated into the drivetrain now since they'll pre-emptively downshift based on upcoming hills based on GPS location. But standalone isn't out of the question nowadays since they can run DI engines and spoof can, it just gets very expensive and calibration is outside of the means of most people.
But a 996 from 200x isn't a modern car in this respect.

Yeah, definitely. I tried this routing before going with what I've been working on and couldn't even fit the hose up into that space with the wheel mounted while on the lift, let alone once suspension was compressed. I thought it was viable because of how much room between the IC duct and the body, but couldn't squeeze it in.

Maybe you have different size / offset wheels than mine. Mine fit fine and no rubbing on the piping. I can take a picture of the clearance when the car is lowered on the ground. I had read about the wheels rubbing when the suspension is compressed and thats why I tested it when the first piping was done so I dont make two pipings only to find out they rub.

That's not true, the 6TT auto ECU will not properly run a manual trans. It goes into limp mode and won't build boost. I have tried. It can be flashed to manual code by someone who know how.
The original somewhat off topic post was about converting a Cayenne Turbo to a manual transmission, which would be a hoot. The Cayenne non-turbo is already "Porsche's most powerful manual transmission V8". and stepping that up to 520hp would be quite impressive.
finished up the long block for my buddy's GT2, time to dress it and get it installed...drove mine a few days ago to a local Porsche show, not using it enough right now
STILL waiting for Porsche to respond/act on incorrectly made oil pressure sender hose, they are currently being made too long and do not fit a 996tt..customer car waiting on that for engine reinstall
