What did you do to your 996TT today?

interesting. does it matter for street vs track application? i almost feel like i rather it be more responsive from the bottom end with quicker spool on the street since i don't have much runway to be topping out the turbos... at least in NJ area... it would be different if i lived in Texas...

My Turbo has always been strictly a street car and its stock K16 turbos with a stage 2 tune is perfect for me. The car can obviously hyper exceed any posted speed limit in the state without breaking a sweat. It doesn't lack punch.
As asked above, how fast do you need to go?

Wanted to take Blackie on a 3h ride for my summer vacation but the volt meter was reading a bit low at 13.3 and 12.8 under a load. Strange because it appears to be a new alternator and a few months ago it was reading 13.8 at cold start and 13.3 under load.
And the rear suspension is better but still not perfect. It rebounds at an angle rather than vertically. Maybe it's the position of the drop links.
The Audi front suspension is making some strange clunky/rubbing noise even though everything is tight and new.
So I took the sliver 996tt. I just swapped the left left inner and outer tie rods. At first I heard a clunky noise but it went away by the time it got to the highway.
The car didn't fail to impress %#>EUR it was glued to the road wet or dry.
Though the rough country roads revealed the draw back of the H&R Reds. It was bone-jarring or maybe I'm getting old. It took almost a year since I installed the lowering springs for the suspension to settle to such a state. Until now it was a bit bouncy which I assumed was due to the dampers operating outside their normal range.
Guess they found their new normal.
I'll fiddle with the tire pressures.

Traction isn't really an issue until you try hitting 0-60 in 2 seconds.

The Tip is that stout, but perhaps not forever. After 180k-ish miles and a lot of track use by previous owners mine is slipping in 2nd gear when hot. That's why I got stuck in limp mode a few weeks ago. For now I'll just not use 2nd gear on the track. It's fine otherwise. I'll deal with it over the winter, either by rebuilding it or doing a manual swap.

I totally thought the manual was the stronger of the two available boxes, but as Carlo mentions it can handle 750hp, 1000lb/ft (?) Of torque, I could only imagine how stiff the clutch would be in a similarly powered manual car...
