Yes, I had that discussion with my local Pcar tech on Saturday at our C&C. He said it's a good idea to replace both sides if one is leaking, but rarely sees leaking from the center and recommended holding off on replacing that one. Sounded logical to me.

I replaced my right and left with CSF last winter. Did not replace center. All good.

So, got together with SDEMatt, ate some sushi, and I let him drive my car...

Lightly refinished a recently purchased OEM Carbon Fiber steering wheel. It’s not 100% perfect, but I’m very pleased with the results. The deepest cracks are still visible underneath the new resin, but the yellowing is gone and the smoothness has been fully restored.

Still looking for more parts to restore. Hit me up if you have any old CF you don’t need

No it's through the entire piece. You can repair it very well and hide the cracks as seen here but it's still not optically perfect. See my threads on 6 speed restoring carbon trim. Lots of detailed pics. That said, it's a great option. The other alternative is to strip it all the way down, remove the cloth, exposing the wood wheel frame and then recover in new cloth and better (epoxy) resin. The older resins are poly based and no UV stable. The new stuff is great. I removed all my factory carbon and recovered it. Looks 100x better.
