Side benefit of Covid is that my office building emptied out in March 2020. 500 parking spaces and maybe 50 cars daily. Very fortunate in that regard! I made a cover (using an old full cover) that covers the windshield, roof , side and rear windows that is light, compact and easy to throw on. Keeps the sun out of the car and helps at least a bit with birds and dust. I'll post some pics later this week. Easy to do with access to a seamstress or interior shop.
When I was working, I only drove my turbo to work on the weekends. Covered parking and I usually had the entire level to myself. And no Porsche questions from the curious.
I don't drive my car to work because my office is in downtown Seattle and I don't want to come back to it in the evening to find that it's been used by Dirty Mike and the boys for a soup kitchen.
I don't consider it "worry." I consider it "taking care of your good stuff."
Taking care of stuff is one thing, speculating about whether or not to leave it outside as a tree may fall on it and it's fully insured and the constant worry that's apparent in threads like this are something else.
I’ve always been envious of people that actually have the opportunity to drive their personal cars to work. I have always had a company car that I need to work from.

"Worry" is not what motivates my actions.
And fully insured has nothing to do with it. It would be extremely difficult (impossible?) to exactly replace my Turbo.
I didn't buy my Turbo to be a daily driver, I bought it to be part of great driving experiences. That's what I've always used it for.
I also bought my Turbo to keep forever, so I not only want to always enjoy every outing in it, I want to do my best to protect it from damage.
I always check the weather before taking the car out. I've had two other cars damaged by hail here in Georgia.
I honestly could care less about what motivates ya, but just think it's interesting how many aspire to own a car like this and then are limited to where they'll use it based on speculating the worst may happen. With that school of thought, may as well live in a bubble and own nothing of value. I like reading stories like t2 and the older carpet guy with 600+ on his 930 turbo that was daily driven. I understand your sentiment though, but I can still be fascinated by it, in the same way that others are surprised mine is sitting in the driveway right now and not in the empty garage while it's windy and raining

It's a matter of risk management.

If there's anyone who appreciates/understands risk management, I'd say it's me. My wife is constantly on me about how much I worry about my little guys getting into stuff that could hurt them. I'm risk averse on the things that seem worthwhile. Maybe a little too much with certain things. Too many years of work has done it to me.
