What did you do to your 996TT today?

Unless you plan to buy a brand new 996 in 2030, you probably don't have anything to worry about. Everyone seems to forget that car aficionados/gear heads are an extreme minority of automobile drivers/owners. The average car owner just wants an appliance they can replace every 5-10 years, who cares if all the Camrys and Civics will be electric soon? The government is just as likely to take away your old combustion car as they are to take away your guns, it's not happening. Now if people would just stop hoarding air cooled 911s and 9mm ammo so I can actually purchase one or the other...

If things progress as some people want them to, the problem will not be one of having your I/C vehicle taken away from you, it will be one of having gasoline to put in its tank.

Stop the fear mongering. Oil/gas isn't going anywhere for a long time. You know oil is in lots of things more than just cars...

From the link below: "The United Kingdom will ban the sale of new combustion-engine vehicles by 2030, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today. It will also ban the sale of new hybrid cars by 2035. Johnson made the announcement tonight as part of a new ten-point plan for a “green industrial revolution.” (my bold)

Although on a different timetable, this is the plan that will (unfortunately) eventfully be implemented in the United States.
Anyone considered switching their 996 Turbo from gasoline powered to coal powered (electric engine)? I'm sure this will be a modification thread here on this forum sooner rather than later.

GM plans to exclusively offer electric vehicles by 2035, ending production of its cars, trucks and SUVs with diesel- and gasoline-powered engines.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that after 2035, sales of gas-powered vehicles would be banned in California.
From the article linked below: "West Coast Democrats this week introduced federal legislation that would ban U.S. sales of new vehicles with internal combustion engines by 2035"

There is obviously a point where gasoline producers won't have a market for the gasoline they make. If some people have their way this will be way sooner than later.

Also, don't forget there are multiple hydrocarbon replacement fuels currently in development, with one of the most promising being developed by Porsche, with an intended use as a replacement fuel that can used in currently existing ICE cars, with little to no conversion needed to use it.

Sure, it's expensive now but all new technologies are expensive at first. Remember when flat screen TVs were thousands of dollars?

Sure, and I am still waiting on that Supreme Court Decision that is going to hand Trump a second term. Any word on that? Talk about heads in the sand.
