never I would have gone for this car. Convertible and triptonic, hey but there are people that will buy beach front property in Oklahoma. As an example I’m looking at a 09 Carrera S coupe, Bose, sport exhaust, sport chrono. 6 speed at less than $37. This engine almost no issues with bore scoring, no ims issues. This blue car had to have some special meaning for someone.

BAT sales are like eBay, you end up paying top dollar on anything that people want.

You are bidding against others nationwide, so sales tend to generate higher final bids. It's a much larger market and you include market segments where buyers are willing to pay bigger bucks.

Local sales are tied to a smaller market and as such tend to go for less.

I don't like using BAT as a true reference of the market, but it is one of the best at revealing the actual selling price, which is often different than the asking price in a non-bid sale.

that car is very special. you can tell just from looking at it that it's one of a kind. 1/1 as a vette owner would say. And it would make a pretty piece of a larger Porsche collection.

but yeah, not the one to own if you can only own one, in my opinion.

And then color

Silly, silly and more silly.

But then again, maybe the buyer needs something that will match a 917 collection, and is willing to pay up.

Go baby!

Niche collector markets are always quirky (silly)

911 especially so

That logic is tempting, but the winning bid was competitive

They can't all need to match a 917

Huge color = huge price

Always

Watch the movie Lemans and you will want to match as well. All the buyer needs is a matching tag monaco and they are all set.

I guess that's ok, at least its a manual, nice shifter, crested headrests, the cab profile is a bit daunting for me, i dont think i could like with it... the coupe is much prettier.
