I tried to give them my money. Unfortunately I got bid sniped with 1 second to go. I'm curious to see if they make a deal with the high bidder. Bid snipes hurt to lose to and one of the best traits about BaT to avoid that whole scenario.

Seems there is a C4S up for auction on BAT with 8k miles. Original owner. Would love to know the back story on how that car could sit in your possession and only drive it 400 miles a year?!
Be interesting to see what it goes for.

That is most likely not a happy car. Pretty much everything rubber and fuel related will need to be replaced given the lack of mileage. Makes no sense to me to get a car like that, keep for 20 years and hardly drive it…. It’s not an exotic where mileage destroys the value.

It may be the pictures, but the seats look a little worn and not well taken care of in the C4s. Also a little miffed on how dirty the bottom of the car is with only 8k miles. Scratching my head on that one. With 8k miles, i would make sure that car was perfect inside and out. It may make a $20k difference in the final price.

Several sub-20k mile C4Ss sold on BAT earlier in 2022 for $60-70k. I love the C4S, but it would be hard for me personally to justify spending 996 TT money on a low mileage C4S. Over the past 5 years I've bought a low mileage Land Rover and BMW, and in each case I spent the first year of ownership sorting out problems that arose from the cars not being driven regularly. Don't get me wrong, I would love to own one of those but for the same money I would be getting a 996TT or a well sorted later model 997.

I believe it's OK to store a car for 4-5 mos in the winter, depending on where you live. But the rest of the good months, the car should be driven almost daily and driven hard with high speed and high RPMs. Touring will accomplish that without tracking the car. It has worked for me over 5 911s through the years. If you're not going to drive them, they will deteriorate.

Could not agree more. As a prospective buyer I've been keeping an eye on these prices over the last few months, and if you have the cash it would seem better to buy an underpriced turbo vs an overpriced c4s, unless the c4s holds some kind of sentimental value for the buyer. Another interesting model is the 40th AE, which seem to be priced only modestly higher than the equivalent 6 speed C2S coupe, yet a good bit lower than the C4S in some cases.

Biased owner here but I still think it's a hidden gem of the 996 line up and still often overlooked. I drove a C4S for 3 month before buying my 40th and zero regrets. To me, C4S was the car I enjoyed looking at and 40th was the one I preferred to drive. Car felt more "alive". With how it comes, it's not a bad looker either. One sold in town recently via BaT for a steal, $25k I think.
