A few cabs went for good money lately. Sad to see that white coupe end up having engine failure during the auction, glad to see the seller be honest about it.

edit: to include receipt for full interior and exterior detail
mine is a 3/98, just turned 99k miles but I have the awesome 408s. Anyway I put new tires on the front today. I said to myself I wasn’t going to put that much money in it. But right now, I put in catless fabspeed x pipe, souls headers, water pump, low temp thermostat, 3.8 carrera s airbox, and guess what, I’ll be probably putting in an ipd plenum and then a tune. I bought it to drive and enjoy but it helps that I got a great deal. And yes the $52,500 red 02 with 24 k miles was my buddy, that I could have probably purchased for $41k. By the way my friend was so nice to the buyer that he put new pirrelli p zeros 285/30 18 yesterday at a tune of $800 just because he’s a niece guy.

Given the age and condition of the rest of the car, I'd imagine the engine mounts are totally shot.

That is what I was thinking. Mine were replaced and my tips were still meh but the hardware was so rusty and awful you could basically twist them. In fact I just twisted them back and forth until they broke off and I could get new hardware for them when I was replacing my mufflers. On a side not those cars are the worst to detail because even after they are done they still look so beat up.

What would cause the seat backs to have that kind of wear/damage, anyway? Animals? Sun?

Mine are not as bad, but I have the same damage. I believe it is from people not being careful when putting things in the rear or kids sitting in or getting in and out of the back seat and scraping them. On mine it is very clear that the damage is caused by something scraping the finish off and not some sort of sun damage/fading.

Once that coating starts to scrape off, it's a losing game.

Also, they refinished the seats but couldn't even pull the leather over the fasteners properly for the photos.

Turds like this will definitely skew the data.

BAT listed a honda element the other week... I guess they're less discerning these days

I don't understand people who sell cars sometimes.

I'm slowly getting my car ready for sale and am having anxiety over the Porsche crest missing from the shift ****. This guy barely bothered to wash the car.

I'm hoping this is one of those cars where it turns out it's in better condition than it looks but I'm not so sure.

I think it's actually the reverse, a guy trying to take advantage of a hot market.

I think Honda Elements are kinda cool lol. Didn't bring a trailer also start out as just that? Like projects and what not? This premium auction thing wasn't always the case but they should probably decide what they want to label themselves as.
