Seems that day and time, miles and if aero kit or not seem to be interesting variables. Unicorn color didn't matter quite as much on this one.

I think the chrome wheels aren't very attractive. They just seem cheap for some reason, I know its not the case maybe its just because it seems dated.

Chrome anything is a fatal flaw on any Porsche

Major reason I can’t sit in a 997 or newer 911

Plastichrome everywhere

I've looked at the new 911s in the dealer's showroom and I have concluded that Porsche is dangerously close to losing their way completely.....
I don't know what they think they are doing. Maybe their market studies tell them that the affluent customer base they are addressing wants all the shiny surfaces and controls. I don't doubt they are very quick but the visual enchantment is certainly not there for me.

I know a lot of people don't like him but I think Doug Demuro has a point its definitely more a luxury experience these days but I am guessing Porsche went that way because they sell more cars.

Bingo. It's a business. Porsche knows exactly what they are doing. Going after the affluent folks that can't drive manual, think Lexus and Tesla are the best made cars, never watched an F1 race nor IMSA, want to drive a cushy sports car around with every creature comfort known to man. Most importantly, they have never heard of heal toe shifting.

Makes the 996 pretty damn attractive for us petrol heads.

I would say the 996 is part of the end of the analog era. So many good cars from there that I will probably never own because of how the market it is and there are going to be cars that just don't drop it price.

Funny, I came to that exact same conclusion in 2005

So, I'm learning my wife's new-to-her Boxster so I can teach it to her. My wife is an elementary educator, with BS, MS, and enough credits to be a principal. She's a very intelligent person, accustomed to learning subjects from documents. After spending about 4 hours on the manual for the Boxster myself, which is clearly written by tech writers and reviewed by engineers, I can say conclusively that although she loves the car, she will never be able to master the on board systems, nor wish to. I'm not sure I will be able to entirely understand everything and actually use it under way. Fortunately, or intentionally, actually, she has PDK which is very impressive. So I am sure I'll be able to set it up for her so she just puts the thing in D and proceeds exactly the same as our Maxima or Jeep, only much faster, if she wishes. For now. But I really wonder if there is complexity here simply for the sake of, well, complexity. There is an MFD that the manual just waves at and says "....this is too complex to explain fully...start here and look at this..." Perhaps the millenniums and Z's who have grown up accustomed to complex buttonology (as I did actually) will enjoy getting into the complexity.
As for me, I like the scent of leather, a big tach, a stick in my hand, and a throaty roar, all wrapped up in a shiny exterior. And no chrome. Oh, just like my 996. Imagine that!

we went to see the 99 black lsd, factory XAA that’s listed on pcar. The car looks good interior is clean. The owner is a true Motörhead, but he discovered he just likes american muscle cars. Just sold a 17 viper, recently bought a 74 verte with a blower sticking thru the hood. His wife’s is a old school 60s Camaro SS. I may buy this one and put all my performance parts on it if I can get it at a good price. It has the super loud fabspeed exhaust.

True, I did forget that. They came with all of the luxury options as well. None of the sport options came standard though, like M030, LSD, Sport Seats, etc.

Yeah, I was expecting more from this one given the last couple regular Carreras. I think the timing was definitely less than ideal with it ending early/mid afternoon on the Saturday of Super Bowl and Valentines weekend.

It already is.

Man that’s cool as hell. I really enjoy all these weird variants and colors.
