Prices Keep Drifting Up

The hard part is determining when to pull the proverbial trigger (if price matters). Sometimes you buy when you just want to buy regardless of the price trends, like I did. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some.
Looking back (way back), I got a good deal on my GT3, $26K off sticker on a 2-year old car with 5,500 miles on the clock and CPO warranty from the dealer's lot. Can't do anything like that now where low-mileage 2-year old GT3s are getting close to original sticker prices (usually more than sticker). Those are private sales, too.
While I think the general trend for 996 cars will be up, you could almost bet there will be a decline when supply shortages ease. Then again, come Spring you should get a seasonal bump.

The only gamble is with your wife; and I strongly advise against. That one is a hold. "Switch cars, not women" -Doug Tabbutt
seems like a bit of a gamble I’m not sure I want to take!! A gamble on finding the right car and whether or not my wife murders me
i also have some loose ends to tie up on the C2 before I think about moving on. I need to repair the leather on both seats and a few other cosmetic things. I already dumped $13k into it and I want to enjoy it for a while

This below. You also have to parse between a “dip” and an obvious scam. A $20K C4S is not gonna pan out unless texting your online banking login to a prepaid cell number in Los Angeles is your idea of panning out.

There are no $20K 996's left in Encinitas, CA. Those five thousand cars are now all $30K bad-CarFax flips on BaT. They crank those auctions ten at a time looks like. Only Porsches left in Encinitas now are peeling Black Cayenne's with dark brown headlights, and vast oceans of Silver Boxsters

Not quite a 996 but of the same era. Did anyone else see this bad boy on copart?
