Yes. Deal not done yet, cold weather in Chicago delaying getting car in for extensive PPI. Will get something done soon, neither of us is in a hurry.

Heck no; mine was listed and sold through here. I had a bad experience a couple of years ago selling a Panamera 4S on Cars and Bids (mine was one of the first cars on the site), and I won't do an auction site again as a seller.

Like my car, though, the one on BaT that got listed today isn't an XAA, but does have the factory aero apparently dealer installed. Unlike that BaT car, my car still has the hollow turbo twists (albeit now black).

I’m not convinced GT3 is an actual upgrade from the Turbo; suspension sits inches lower, and is orders of magnitude stiffer. Not to mention almost all the HP/torque sits at the absolute top of the rev range (albeit gloriously)
There is a valid reason the Turbo originally cost tens of thousands more
Dedicated track weapon: sure, no contest. But the Turbo is far better part-time on the track, than the GT3 is at all on the street (those open to the public, anyway)
Horses for courses
And as for collectibility: don’t lose foresight of the stark fact there are almost 200 more 996 GT’s in the world (7,181) than there are 996 manual coupe Turbos (7,019). Once the ROW cars turn 25 the US market must “realize” this truth

Great car in the snow and mud with AWD. Jack that baby up and you have Dakar racer.
Direct lineage from 959. Jacky Ickx would be proud. I always wanted a 996 Turbo. May be the perfect all weather daily driver 911.

However, a GT3 on the street is a subjective call. It depends on the roads where you live and one's preferences in ride compliance. I have put 140K street miles on mine and have no issues. And another preference is my desire for the non-turbo power band of the GT3.

Turbo is a much better comfy ride and good for quick squirts down the road.

I believe the water-cooled twin-turbocharged Mezger, that ruled LeMans from 1985-1998, descended precisely like this:
962 -> 959 -> 996 GT1 -> 996 Turbo / 996 GT2 -> 997.1 Turbo / 997 GT2 -> The End
Any manual coupe found in this mythic Porsche Motorsports engine lineage will eventually become priceless

Throw in a little F1 engine technology from the days of McClaren/Porsche and we have the seeds for the water cooled 996 and all its engine variants.

After driving 2.0l 4cyl turbos all my life, and now owning my turbodiesel truck, my wife's Korean turbo crossover, and my big turbo RS3 I sold back in July, my #1 criteria for my first 911 was a naturally aspirated engine. And I don't regret it. In fact, my next car will be NA too. Looking to get one of the final NA GTS engines Porsche put out and keep that thing forever.
I'm sure the twin turbo system in Porsches is much more refined than the turbos I experienced and I do hope to have the chance to drive one someday soon, but there's just something so natural about... natural.

I would take the NA 996 over turbo any day from just a sheer drivers enjoyment standpoint. The 996 Turbo is heavy with lots of understeer on the track. But it would make an incredible daily driver because you aren't looking for track handling, just a safe car in all weather conditions.
