Interesting they replaced the dash when doing the interior updates.
RNM @ $38,000. Guessing they want $45k?

I'll take a crack at it:
- Top notch interior job, when I was looking a well kept interior was high on my list
- The car looks to be in near perfect condition
- Later model, those always fetch a premium
- It's not black, grey or silver. I still love my slate grey though!
- Looks to have some of the aerokit pieces

A clean, well presented and photographed car will bring in more than one that isn't, even if it has proof of clean bores and other mechanical maintenance. That's the sad reality of on-line auctions. I think an auction ending on a Monday after a long weekend when everyone is back to work didn't help it either. I think with the right buyer, he can get in the low 40s for it. Nice that the hardtop is included.

$11k on that horrendous interior... GT3 buckets would've been money better spent and you would've spent less

It's a C4S so in my mind that should put it in the low 30's. I've sold a car on BaT and I've bought three there, including my targa. Which is to say that I know how they are with reserves. They lowball; they don't get paid unless the car sells. So the question for me becomes, how did this seller manage to get such a high reserve on this car?
Looks like a high frequency seller, so perhaps that helps?

BAT rolled out a new feature for RNM auction results - Make a Final Offer. It's a 24 hour post-auction period where highest bidder gets to make one final offer.

Pro tip: if you are genuinely interested in a vehicle, use the "Contact Seller" button (prior to the end of the auction!) to establish direct contact with the seller.

Forgot where I saw this but the BaT actual sale rate was only at about 45% and consultants told them they were leaving commission money on the table with Reserve not met. With the Final Offer they can still collect on the sale if the highest bidder puts up some more money. Smart from business perspective. If the bidding kept on with $1k or less increments and the car doesn't sell, this leaves the seller disappointed. Now if the high bidder decides to cough up some extra cash and the seller wants to sell and they strike a deal, then you end up with 3 happy parties.

I think it's just a way for BaT to keep their mitts in the transaction process a little longer. They've put the high bidder in contact with the seller for a long while.

I remember that BaT would sometimes (maybe always?) "make up the difference" if a high bid was within the fee margin. For instance a car bids to $99k but the reserve is $100k, if it sold at $99k it would have brought in $4950 in fees. So BaT lets it sell for $99k + $4950 and gives the seller the full $100k. Bat makes $3950 and since making $3950 is better than $0 it works out for all involved. I wonder if this change means they will no longer do that in hopes that the top bidder might offer $100K or $105k?

Two ends of the spectrum..
A well-optioned 996 Aerokit sells for $42k with fee
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...rera-coupe-30/
A driven, properly modded .1 Cab gets stolen for under $17.5k after fee

Odd to see the fact that it (apparently/presumably) has not being driven much lately missed on BaT -- that's one of the things I like about BaT is that the questions/answers can help you learn a lot more about a car (especially if it's a brand/model you aren't that familiar with).
