Thanks man !

Front

5MM Spacer to clear coil over

Rear
18X11+67
305x35

Rear rubs. Fenders will be massaged for the clearance needed for full suspension travel. Also, plan to run about an additional negative .5-1 degree of camber compared to where I am now.

Brand new rear lips nicely polished, I'm going to have to put some elbow grease on the fronts...the mismatch is killing me.

In FL over the next week and i hope to stop by Sunset Porsche and spend some time with their parts department discussing how to effectively bolt on a GT3 front splitter to an 02 Carrera front bumper. i understand that they are no-longer making the GT3 Cup front splitter available for sale, but aftermarket shops may be manufacturing. I'll confirm what they say and get back to the thread.

At this stage over the past 18 years, i have done everything you can reasonably do to my 02 996 from a suspension, lsd, bolt on engine stuff, software, exhaust, safety equipment, GT3 seats, brakes etc. for mechanical grip and handling for the track, while keeping it driveable on the street.

Now i need to settle on aero that's effective on the track and able to be driven around town. Your thread and what you have been doing to your car is a big help.

I would really like a full carbon splitter with ducting similar to this piece that’s available for GT4’s

I have toyed with the idea of making something myself (less complex than above) after watching this guys YT channel. He is doing some amazing things on his build, worth a watch.

Now that would be a fascinating project. Have thought about it many times but lack the mechanical/craftsman skillset. it may possibly solve the clearance problem that we all have if our cars have been lowered with after market suspensions.

I’m guessing you have, but in case you have not, have you seen/considered the Joe Toth 2 piece front splitters? Probably what I will end up going with, seems like the best of both worlds for a car that gets driven to, then at, the track. Also, I’m a sucker for dzus fasteners...

I talked with Joe on splitters for the .2 bumper when I was working with him on which version of the dive planes to get (he does not make a .2 specific set and I’m using boxster parts).

He relayed he did not have a splitter setup that would work for a .2 without extensive modification which is a bummer.

I bought a 996tt front bumper to transplant on, slightly more aero, then with adding the splitter, significantly more aero. It adds a step (bumper swap), but also you get the opening for a third radiator, so a 2 for 1 in that respect.

Had a really fun track day at Palmer Motorsports Park today running the clockwise direction. It was my first time there and I found the track to be very challenging with lots of blind apexes, elevation and positive/negative camber turns. I definitely can't wait to go back after getting to study some of what I did today and having the experience under my belt.

I ran a best time of 1:55 and was consistently around that time with no traffic, so I was pretty happy with the consistency -but- there is a ton I left on the table.

The car worked great - no leaks, funny noises or bad smells. The aero all stayed affixed to the car and it got a lot of attention in the paddock. It was cold out today and although the PS4S did slide around a fair bit they were as they have been, confidence inspiring with their predicability. I am definitely ready for a stickier tire though. Great oil pressure all day with the cooler temps likely playing a role - it was in the 40's and got into the low 50's in the afternoon.

Car made the trip to and from - 1HR each way easy and I think made a kids day when I came out from gassing up on the way home and said kid and his pop were looking at the car, I asked the kid if he wanted to sit in the drivers seat and his dad got some pics for Mom - future Porsche owner hopefully. Chalking one up for keeping it streetable enough to drive to and from the track.

I'll have some video up in the next couple days, stay tuned !

Cripes, 1:55 is a very good time. I've been trying all year to crack 2:00. I guess I need more power for those elevation changes. I can't wait to see your video.

Thanks Aaron - I just edited the video and I got to be honest, I can do a lot better. This track really has a lot going on and I was too timid on the downhills and high speed last couple turns. That said, I cannot wait to get back there.

Anyway, here's the video - hope you all enjoy !

This I can understand. The only place I have ever scared myself on track is right there at Palmer on my first Clockwise day. I came out of T5-T4 and carried FAR too much speed downhill into T3, 4-wheel drifted the Corrado through T3 somehow keeping it on the track as the tire wall is RIGHT THERE and I knew if I put 2 off I would be greeting it at speed.
I've seen more crashes at Palmer than anywhere else, even in the usually disciplined SCDA events.
That said, I cannot wait to get back there.
Yes, I'm counting the days too. At the moment Clockwise at Palmer is my favorite track.

There were 2 incidents during my day, a BRZ that definitely was written off and another rear drive car that will be salvaged but had good contact with the wall.

Definitely consequence for bravado not matched with skill there, a big part of why I really chose my corner battles carefully. A stickier tire would give some more confidence in the sections where mechanical grip is hard to find.

Fun track though.

Rolled the fenders last week to see what that would do to resolve the rubbing I experienced in the rear with the 305/35, an act of God occurred today and it's 72 degrees in MA so I was able to get it out for a spin and I was "street" successful with the fender rolling. One rubbing occurrence going over a moderate bump in the road at speed. Spirited driving, no rub.

The fact it rubbed at all means I still have work to do to assure full rear suspension travel. I will be using the camber from the -2.5 to -3, maybe a little more and that should help. Also considering going from a 305/35 to a 315/30 as the 35 tire is really tall for the rear of the NB car...

I also have been stashing away parts for when she goes to sleep. Elephant front camber plates, cup rear sway, adjustable rear toe arms, cup dog bones, stainless brake lines, cup master cylinder, BK sub bar for passenger seat - Got to decide if I'm going to complete the set of cup LCA's I have or go another direction. Also, been thinking the car may go all black over the winter... still undecided.

Got some sweet pics though of the car with the wheels out in the wild...

I’m running 315/30 18s on my 2002 C4S and it does not rub.

Yes and I'm running 315/30-18's on my Turbo and it doesn't rub - but we have wide body cars and Jason's is a narrow body car.
