Just discovered your thread and had to subscribe. Really looking forward to reading through all of it and maybe picking up some tips for my own track-focused 996.
For my next mods I'm thinking Cup Car shifter cables, SS brake lines, and exhaust work. Not sure about going to a full muffler delete.

Feel free to take a trip to my YT channel link in sig to follow build there as well.

I think someone else here mentioned the LSD. I have one out of a 996 GT3 in mine and it's probably been the best mod for the track (well, maybe after the Ohlins). Makes exiting a corner even more awesome!

Thanks! For me, I still drive my 996 on the street here and the local po-po don't take kindly to excessively loud cars, even tho they seem to ignore the loud Harleys. I do have a bit of a modded exhaust already (catless PSE) but my 996 is a sleeper for the most part and I'm kind of torn about departing from that philosophy.

I am drooling over your list of parts to work with and the direction of your car. Hopefully this is not too distracting, but I was crew on a race team this weekend at COTA in Texas. The reason I bring this up was there was a 996 race car in the field that was super fast (and competitive with 200K+ race cars in WRL GTO). Just thought this would be a good place to share this.

Looks like a Cup. Look how low it sits, the rear tires are tucked static... Awesome looking car and even better that it was able to hold its own against some serious sounding hardware.

Installed all the parts I have on hand for the rear suspension.
Cup wishbones with monoball bushings
Adjustable toe arms
Cup rear sway bar
Tarrett drop links
The drop links came out of the cup car and are a little long, so I adjusted the mounting collar on the Ohlins up the shock body. I'll do a final adjustment of the links when the car is on its own weight, I think it will work out fine. Cycled the suspension through its full range of travel and no weird business happening.
Got rid of a lot of rubber back there today which is good, still need to figure out what I'm going to do for the LCA's and I'll likely be upping the spring rates both front and rear.

Yes, the P/N isn’t a perfect match, but OSG said it would fit. Let’s hope for the best (fingers crossed emoji ). Added in a new clutch and new rear wheel bearings while it is apart.

I also need to reach out to Öhlins, I want to switch to a stiffer spring for this season and will likely have them do a revalve/rebuild at the end of this season.
