I will be calibrating the pot as a custom sensor and will add as many points as I need to get accurate results. The more string actually should allow me to get greater granularity of data at the cost of a more time consuming calibration.
Here's a good read from a fellow member on the cal procedure, take a look at the 2nd method he references.

Another one of my occasional OT interludes...
Stumbled on a picture of the best engine I have ever owned and thought I'd post it for some to see my roots... before kids and responsibilities really kicked in.
2.3L
8K RPM Red Line
93 Pump gas with 100% alcohol injection
500 FT/LBS Torque
572 Peak Wheel Horse Power
35 PSI Max Boost Pressure
Autronic Standalone ECU running multiple selectable anti-lag maps / no lift shift / wideband lambda
The benefits of a good ole iron block If I remember correctly, a stock 276 factory HP Evo 8 put about 240WHP down on this dyno for reference.

Very nice EVO build !! I worked for Mitsu during the late 90's early 2000's during my transition from FoMoCo to Porsche when they first imported the EVO to the USA. I was impressed with the EVO as it reminded me so much of this 1972 German Ford Capri I built as my daily driver. Was a 2.0 T-88 SOHC iron block, iron head ,8 valves ,23 psi boost, pushed from 86hp to 325hp and was "King of the Street" in the Southeast in the late 70's - early 80's . It only weighed 1900lbs creating 5.8 lbs/HP nothing could touch it !! .....Race version of this was pushed to 525HP @ 11.500rpm @ 25psi boost in 1986

Good day today - gearbox back in, everything torqued to spec, slave is bled and under trays back on, nice to have that stuff back on the car and not cluttering up the garage. Since the string pot install is done I put the drivers seat back in. All that's left in the interior is the door cards...
Hoping the oil filter adapter mods are done early this week which will allow me to finish the oil T and P installs. That leaves me waiting for the new springs to show up and closing loop on fluids and maint stuff and she will be ready to go - nice to have an end in sight.
While I'm waiting for the springs I'm going to pull the stock springs off the dampers since they're coming off anyway, reinstall the dampers and try to get my tire fitment dialed all the way to the bump stops.
Love the story Skip... boost is a beautiful thing... Just can't make up for that NA flat six sound though

The LN / oil filter adapter combo is done. Aaron (Big thanks !) machined both the LN adapter (the part the oil filter threads on) and the female to male 13/16 fitting that came with my other adapter down to get everything to play nice together.
This seems to be a pretty minimally invasive way to add these gauges or sensors to your car. If the location is optimal for the sensors remains to be seen but its what I'm going with for now. Will still be a little bit before I run the car but I can now wrap up the routing of the sensor wires, get wires protected with fire sleeve and in the forever location. That will put the Aim install to bed.

372 Subs ! Way more than I thought I would get and the feedback is really positive. Nice to see the videos are enjoyed by some... makes it worth the effort to do them.

Definitely watched the video! No need to overthink it too much. Just throw up a few lights in corners and you're good to go Pretty stoked to see some data points come out of that thing to see what works and what doesn't.

That said, I should try to not blind the viewer with my work light overhead setup haha.
Glad your pumped on the data... me too. Should start some conversations.

Filled the trans with Porsche oil that was recommended for the LSD.
Springs and remote adjuster for the rear Ohlins shipped today which is good. Also got another liter of SRF brake fluid incoming, I want to give the clutch another round of bleeding as I'm not 100% happy and the brakes need bleeding after installing the brake pressure sensor, 2 liters will give me plenty to make sure both the clutch and brakes are perfect.
I have 2 liters of Motul Gear 300 someone can have if you pay shipping or pick up locally. Help me clear some space on my fluids rack. FWIW, a 2 pack on Amazon is $40...
***ETA*** gear oil gone
