I used Porsche PN 000 043 305 49

Bought from Pelican and they had it to me in a day - those guys are really good.

Curious about how your rear adjusters will work as I'd like to do the same.

That makes 2 of us actually, I told the vendor to throw them in the order before I realized how expensive they were. In the end, I figured I’d stick with it for the following reason: Previously I would pretty much leave the damper settings static, it was a pain to change the rears and really, I just wanted to concentrate on driving and not worry too much about setting and making adjustments to the car. Now that I can log data that can allow me to concentrate on the driving and review changes later through data, I wanted the ability to play with it more without it being a hassle. Also, the data will hopefully allow easier assessment of small changes where previously if I wanted to know what a change did I would make large adjustments to allow a fast recognition of if it seemed like it was going in the right direction.

No idea how any of the adjuster stuff works or how to install, I’ll of course fill in the thread as I figure it out. Here’s what I bought.

This weekend has been pretty productive.

Flushed and bled brakes (Castrol SRF)
Bled Slave
Finished tucking the cables for the oil P and T sensors out of the way, I'm not thrilled with the run, the cables ended up being longer than I needed, for now, they won't rub on anything that moves and have been properly insulated against heat.
Got the steering pot calibrated on the Aim, ended up being super easy.
I dropped one of the rear coilovers out and removed the spring in anticipation of my new springs and remote adjuster showing up mid-week. Funny thing - I had not removed the coilovers since I had installed the cage which bolts to the shock towers, when I unbolted the top mount the coilover did not want to come out, it was being held in by an interference with the cage mount, so, once I had it out, I clearanced the cage mounting holes a tad so the top mount slides back in as it should. The experience did make it so I did not want to have both coilovers removed at the same time out of concern the cage may shift - it is a major, major pain in the *** to get the cage to align - so, I'll only be removing one coilover at a time to minimize the chance of the cage shifting.

Next, with the the spring removed from the damper, I bolted it back in and started to work on clearancing the inner fender for max suspension travel - I hacked a lot out. mostly where the bumper and fender meet - the fender rolling of the main wheel well made for plenty of clearance there, kind of interesting it did not need to be touched as that was where I would of put my money on the biggest offender being. I have enough travel for the tire to tuck pretty far - thinking should be good.

Jason, love what you are doing to your 996 and enjoy following the progress. I am sure you have mentioned this before but I am curious as to what size and brand tires you are running.
Just a quick note, registration for SCCA Track Nights opens tomorrow, will you be running Thompson on 4/22, if so hope to see you there.

Thanks Dude ! Been fun to share as I go.

I'll be running 305/35 NT01's to start the season. The tires on the car are smoked R888R in that same size that came with the E88's... I'm going to keep them on the car just long enough to be satisfied I won't destroy the NT01 first day out then swap them and get the car realigned and corner balanced with the fresh rubber. Can't wait so see what she weighs.

I'll see you at Thompson on the 22nd for sure.

We'll all be there, I hope it doesn't sell out in a minute! I have my clicky finger at the ready...
I may even have my 996 assembled by then, Jason saw my collection of boxes last week. Just waiting for *one*more*part* again.

I'm set for Thompson 4/22 and 5/6 as well as Lime Rock 5/26. Debating NHMS 5/13 - last time I was there it was SO BUMPY.

I went a little nuts today..

First 2 track days - paid and registered $$
Found these bad boys in the classifieds, was pretty sure I was not going to be able to afford LCA's this season, these were the ones I wanted, I like the camber adjustment not needing shims and the caster adjuster is sweet.... Got lucky $$

Finally - Rewarded myself for the tire clearancing with... Tires ! Fresh set of NT01s on the way $$$$ Bonus for the tire in the add being on TE's... if you know, you know.

Nice grab on the adjustable LCAs. The Wheelbase adjustment also a plus when it comes to tweaking the front tire fitment.

Which LCA's are those - never seen them. There are some solutions for caster adjustment that replace the tuning fork bushing with an aluminum insert. I may go that way on my GT3 LCA's if I feel the need.

The NT01's are the standard Rcomp for 911's. The R888R don't hold up on the rears. I think you'll like them. They were awesome on my VW until I hammered them into the cords. I suggest less camber with the NT01's than with the 200 treadwear tires you were using. I went from 3.5* to 3.0* and improved the performance and the edge wear.

Based on your suggestion I also signed up for Mass Tuning @ Palmer on the 10th. I suppose I ought to do something to have a car ready by then, eh?

They're Elephant Racing - https://www.elephantracing.com/porsc...lower-wishbone

Thanks for the camber tip ! Stoked to be on some proper sticky tires.

Glad you signed up, Hopefully my recommendation works out, lot of pressure there Have to coordinate pit spots.

Nice to come home to goodies after a long day... Springs on tomorrow.

Good news...new springs are in. Bad news... The remote adjuster have the wrong adapter and I won't be able to put my GD driver seat back in since I will have to install while in the car.

In keeping with the theme of the car all parts must be different colors...
