Looks good. I put the same wheel in mine as well but added the nrg hub and QR. Thinking of going with the momo mod08 to provide some added extension and dumping the QR as it doesn't really serve a purpose for me.

Haha. Maybe the stadium parking lot? I get the feeling they don't oversteer as much as the older ones too. They had a different suspension setup and I don't see anyone on the 996 forum talking about it. Still, I'd think it would happen quicker at 70 MPH than at 30.

Nice. How's the comfort and feel? I have RAID steering wheel, but I don't love the small size for long drives. I feel like I can never get in a comfortable arm position, though in general I like the thicker rim diameter compared to stock. I'm considering getting a suede/alcantara aftermarket steering wheels to replace it.

The feel is great. The momo mod 69 wheel has a round grip style vs the oval shape (in the hand) a momo mod 88 for example. The size of the wheel is 350mm so it's not too small compared to stock.

Installed the ashtray delete in my 2000 C4 Cab. The ashtray cover still worked but was balky and I don't smoke anyway. Got the replacement console and liner from Pelican Parts.

It was a more complicated installation than appeared at 1st glance. Good thing I have a set of torx sockets and a pair of extremely thin needle nose pliers. Could not have done the swap w/o them.

I also arranged today to return via eBay the 2 Fiat 500 rear brake rotors that I received in response to my order for two rear Brembo brake rotors for my car. How they could mix that up, I don't know but they did.

Not only that but they also sent me the incorrect front brake rotors for my car. Ordered the directional left/right fromt Brembo brake rotors but the sent me the newer PVT asymmetrical brake rotors instead. Was going to return the PVT rotors too but, even though it'll cost me a few more bucks, I think I'll just keep them because I don't want to go thru the hassle/delay of returning them and then still needing to wait for the refund AND order the others ones. The PVTs will work fine and I was thinking about buying them anyway.

First time I've ever had a problem getting the "wrong" item in an eBay transaction BUT I also have a problem w/a brake pad order w/another vendor that I placed at the same time too. Got the wrong front Akebono pads for my car; they sent me a set for a Boxster, not my 911. So, have to deal w/that as well.

OBTW, I "must" add that Porsche makes some really "fussy" cars. I turned on the car to make sure that the switches I swapped into the new ashtray delete console worked correctly and, in order to test the rear windows, I had to raise the roof to do that but when I tried to do that the roof indicator light flashed but NOTHING else happened.

WTF!!!????

Opened up the manual and it said that the parking brake had to be fully engaged for the roof to operate. I had loosened the parking brake to make access to the center console easier. Just fully engaged the brake and the roof worked.

This car is going to drive me crazy. LOL!!!

Replaced my Aero spoiler with a Ruf spoiler. A lot of work, but fun, fun! Vinyl striping is not easy.

I bought a used smarttop module for our cab and read one of its features was bypassing the need of the ebrake to be engaged. Up until that point I was not aware that was required to operate the top.

Does anyone know the difference between the 99-03 and 04-04 exhaust systems ?
Found a local guy selling a Billy Boat from an 04 for $500 and was wondering what changed in order for it to be different than my 99.
Thanks

I am sure you will enjoy the SmartTop module upgrade and all Cabs should have that option from the factory for older cars like ours. That was one of my 1st upgrade and loved it since. Actually I got that with a GB right here on RL, wow long time ago :-) There are many cool features with this module, like Open/Close top while driving slowly or you can Open/Close the 2 small rear windows w. top down or up. Cheers,

Hello good sir. Purchased from Ruf (Germany, not the Weissach folks in Canada) for $1200 shipped. Paint at a good shop shooting all 4 pieces for $650. Stripes from Renndecal for $100. Assembly of new, take off of old, mounting, drilling, etc; solo, in my garage took 4 leisurely hours. Striping the back from window down took 2.5 hours.

My wife saw the tacos on ttt123 and your cars resulting in a convo about taco vs aero vs 996/997 GT3 vs Ruf wing shapes. Love that woman!
