^^^ Trans is not out yet. You're correct he's only charging 1/2 hour for the actual RMS but I was including cost of removal/installation of the trans/clutch all together. Probably should have worded it better, my mistake.
I FINALLY bought Jakes DVD M96 Rebuild Series.
Pelican Group Buy FTW.
I also told my wife that I’m going to rebuild my engine when I retire.
She said, “Ok...if you’re physically able to. You might have to send it to Jake.”
Oh, wouldn’t that be terrible? Ha!
The quickest I have ever done a flywheel/clutch/pressure plate job was 2 hours on a 996/997. From the time I pulled in to the bay, looked at the clock, till the time the car was on the ground driving out..
The Porsche dealer I was at was 5 miles from Porsche Sport Driving School @ Barbers Motorsport Park. They had 75-100 car fleet and were constantly burning up clutches and wanted them back ASAP..Always needed the cars back before you even got started on them..lol.. Of course no IMS procedures or RMS since the cars were still under Factory warranty, but warranty didn't cover destroyed clutches...

In my high school days, I went through a lot of clutches on my 60’s Chevy. I could change a clutch in 45 mins. Only 4 or 5 bolts holding the transmission to the block and the U-joint at the end of the drive shaft.
Funny how I figured out how to grow up and drive ‘normally.’ Haven’t gone through any clutch since.

Took part in a Mission 22 (veteran suicide awareness group) rally drive through the housing at Hanscom AFB outside of Boston, MA. I proudly represented as the only Porsche in the group!
I thought I would try it, a 3 cent tie wrap fixed my passenger side window regulator, window would not come back down to clear the car when shutting the door, this picture show the fix.....
I have been wanting to fix this since last summer, even bought a new window regulator, have a spare now.
I went for a ride with my Dad, he spent the winter in FLA and just ended his 2WK quarantine since returning home. Really nice to get out with him and drive.
We went on some nice roads in South Central MA and into Northern CT. Took a break at Thompson Speedway to walk around and admire the cars.
The Benz is brutal fast in a straight line but not light enough on its feet to keep up with the Porsche on our twisty back roads.
Awesome day, might give it a wash before I put it away.
I was FINALLY able to replace the busted rear "Carrera" emblem with the one user JTT was nice enough to send me. It didn't come with the adhesive backing but I found a place called adhesive templates that was able to send me a pre-made one:

Some times all it takes is just a better understanding of how something operates and a lot of the times something that needs replacement can often be fixed with some ingenuity. Sat down the other day and figured out why my drivers door would drop down off the striker and the window would make contact with the quarter glass when closing and opening the door. After some door, striker, and glass adjustments I got everything aligned and the sound it makes when closing the door has never been so satisfying.
