What did you do to your 996 today?

I have a third (center) radiator as well - it didn't really lower the overall temp either (maybe very slightly but basically not noticeable on the temp gauge). The replacement of the low speed fan resistor did though...

Yes, the resistor was shot - I got the 2 100w generic resistors for $11 from Amazon. Replaced the bad one and have 1 left over for next time...

Got this install finished up last night. Decklid is carbon, ridiculously light.

Installed a modern radio, Kenwood Excelon DDX8906S, and I cleaned my rear drains since I had some moisture under the rear passenger seat.

So what extra parts do you need for this? Crutchfield says this doesn't fit which isn't the case, though I'd buy from them if I knew what to get. Looks like I'd need some sort of trim to move my heater controls to the bottom too.

I used the Metra99-9605B kit. That allows you to install a double din up top and has a one piece cubby and A/C Control surround for the bottom. Some day I may replace with genuine Porsche parts. I also used the Metra wiring adapter 70-1787 for the harness. Most of the wires were incorrect but I knew the correct pinouts and made my own harness using the pieces from this kit. I also used one of the MOST adapters from Amazon. Here is a link on how to physically install a double din https://cai-store.com/pages/install-...es-for-996-986 Also, if you search this site, there are plenty of good recaps on how to install. Electrical is very different based on year and Bose.

Shop did the following
Motul300 7590 tranny diff fluid - wow what a difference. Completely different feel. Very smooth.
wired in daytime running lights - car was a US car originally and prior owner never changed it to make it legal in ontario canada.
swapped out the ims ! Went with vertex/eps. No more nightmares from my ims exploding...and yes my orginal bearing was fine.very little play if anything.
AOS was fine..mechanic said looked like replaced prior.
clutch and flywheel like new.
And my new paper weight.just need to degrease it a bit.

It was a Dundon special (You'll note even the centercaps have Dundon logo.... They had the car for like 7 months and rebuild just about everything in the car....the car is insanely fun to drive...with about 400HP. This picture shows what was done...
