I personally was not speaking about the 911, but just made some remarks about weight distribution in general. If I wanted that I would go for a mid-engined car of course. To me weight is not so important coming from a much heavier 992 4S with PDK.

Congratulations on your allocation. About the build I would only suggest that red and pink is not the best combination. Would you therefore not consider the executive lights?

At that price, I already have the original material that looks more 70's. I would just have my interior guy modify the original covers, he's that good.

I actually thought about it and went back and forth after looking at pictures of PTS cars with and without the tail lights. I found the parts new online cheaper than porsche would put them in for if I really wanted to switch so I left the red in. I might still change it up so the window sticker reflects the clear lights, but it was on my list of maybe items.

^^^ everywhere I looked online for that part is as much or more than OEM installed. Gotta good link you'd care to share? ("Can you spare a square" lol)

Porsche gents…I need advice. My build is locking soon and I’m having an internal battle on a few final points

  • GT Silver vs. Gentian Blue
    • Pros
      • GT: Timeless, accentuates body lines, interior trim in silver instead of black, seat belts in silver
      • Gentian: More dramatic / striking, dynamic based on lighting, less contrast with black plastic body panels
    • Cons
      • GT: More contrast with the black plastic trim, “boring” / lots of silver cars, sport design bumper needed to mitigate the contrasting plastic “chin”
      • Gentian: Shared with and often specced on “lesser” Porsches (e.g., Macan), may not age as well as GT Silver (who can say for certain), interior trim / seatbelts must be black
  • Front Axle Lift vs Sport Design Bumper — one or the other?
    • FAL
      • Is this really needed? I live in a large metropolitan US city and park in garages frequently. My M3 had no problem but my 997.2 C2S felt low…
    • Sport Design Front Bumper
      • I was comparing the 992 design with the previous generations, and noticed they all share painted front bumpers…except for the 992 and its plastic “chin”. It appears the sport design bumper addresses this issue, am I overthinking here?

It's on my work computer so I don't have the exact link but it's not a ton cheaper, like $960ish. I figured I could make some back selling the original set on eBay or the marketplace or take out and sell the used exclusive design ones when I'm done with the car and ready to move onto something else

I might just add it to my build. I'm meeting my salesman sometime soon to go test out different seats, look at the headlight options and maybe listen to both the base audio and Burmester on cars he has there to see what needs to change before my build locks so I'll add looking at the tail lights in person in detail to see what I want to do here.

I'm a big fan of Gentian. I almost ordered my 718 in it.

I don't think you'll need FAL with the standard bumper. Depending on your area, you might need it for the sport design bumper. I like the active aero in the standard bumper and have grown to like it but I see why so many go with the sport design front.

Thanks! I didn’t know the sport design bumper was lower?

The configurator specifically warns you of it

It's not a huge drop but the front lip is definitely something you can scrape if you're not careful

To decide color, make sure you actually look at a 992 in the colors you are considering, not just photos online. My opinion of colors always changes when I see cars in person and in the context of other cars. Obviously, color choice is subjective but crucial to how you will feel about the car. I will say that I think Gentian looks different in person outside of a showroom than it does in photos or inside under artificial light. It always looks darker IRL IMO.

Is it possible to put a matte black wrap on top of PPF? I will have my T with a full PPF done (all painted surfaces) but I would like to have the front splitter on the Sport Design front bumper covered in matte black. However, I am uncertain if you can have a matte black (3M, perhaps?) wrap over the PPF.

Have the shop do it at the same time. They'll ppf all the other areas and put matte black film on the splitter where it'll function as ppf

Has anyone heard anything about Bose coming available? A 130k car with the base terrible stereo is a really hard sell to me.
