He guys. I read everything from the beginning. That’s why I selected my words carefully: I merely observed this. Those cars had the bucket seats so it’s clear we should not use those cars to make objective decisions. My point is: if those cars all had FAL they would also all have the FAL button which is not the case. And if there is one thing I learned in Porsche land is to not always believe what people or dealers are telling you. Sometimes the info is just not correct. But we will see.

Fact is that it does seem logical why such thing could go wrong. You merely need to program some option for it to make a button applicable. Since the sport exhaust is now standard that option is not highlighted and the extra button is not added as well. Seems an honest mistake in programming. But if it’s a clear mistake like this, why did the Porsche North American Rep not just say that he would bring the mistake to the attention of Porsche to just fix it? Saying that the configurator was right is not the point. I am sure it’s right. It just needs to be fixed. So I am not thinking this persons really knows anything about buttons and this kind of details.

Hope is the last to die …

It is very interesting to read about the buying process in the North America. Paying above retail price, pressurized to take more options…

In the UK, we queue for retail price on base 911, T, S and GTS, while GT cars are available to those that have an intimate relationship with their dealer/OPC.
No markup here in Canada that I'm aware of. I'm certainly not paying one. Regarding options, I'm being told Porsche won't build a car without loads of options these days. Apparently the margins are just too thin on the modestly spec'd cars for it to be worth their while, and so they reject the build. Not sure if this is true or if it's coming from dealers.

Does anyone have a picture of the roof when optioned with roof rack prep?

Just a guess, but since the aerokit deletes the active rear flap I think it's possible that the weight difference is a wash or even favors the aerokit.

I think if you are V200 your order has been accepted by Porsche?

This is a very interesting thread, allowing us to compare diff markets. Looks like in the US you have 199 dealers, we have 46 in the UK, with some being owned by Porsche UK.

It appears that US dealers got 2 allocations each (or at least most of them). In UK I am told that in December, only some of the dealers got 1 allocation each, for their showroom/demo cars. Second wave of allocations for the retail clients will be in Jan/Feb 2023. Some dealers gave their showroom allocations to their best clients. I am not one of those.

So I am pleased I get a first hand info from people that are slightly ahead of my market. Hopefully you get your cars delivered soon, so we can hear about your actual experience of riding it. I much prefer hearing from the real users, rather than journos reading the script :-)

Long-time lurker here. My dealer just accepted my MY23 Carrera T order (V200) for June build / July 14 delivery with no ADM. Here's the config: PPGD5GB0

It's a moderate build at $136k: Shark Blue, $4k leather interior, 7MT, LCA, clear taillights. Only "splurge" is Burmester audio. If Bose comes back before my freeze date, I'll switch to Bose and save $4k. The basic audio is supposedly horrible for listening to anything other than podcasts. I'll be trading my 2020 Taycan 4S and selling a 2004 986 Boxster 550 Spyder edition to make room for this one.

This will be my 5th Porsche and first 911 since trading my 997.2 base 6MT for the Taycan. I cancelled a Taycan GTS build at V200 in favor of this one; the Taycan is the best-driving EV bar none (and beats a lot of cars around a track), but it just doesn't have the emotional engagement of a manual transmission flat-6.

For the $60 USD, Preparation for Roof Transport option, my understanding is that the roof will LOOK identical to other cars...but mechanically an 'anchor point channel' is installed under the weather stripping material on the roof.

...I'd definitely appreciate confirmation / more information from the RL-crew on this as well. (As my only experience is via seeing cars with this option installed at multiple showrooms.)

When you checked ventilated seats, it reverted to leather centers instead of sport-tex because you can't get the latter with ventilated seats. Somehow though the build shows the different interior you selected. I'd add the larger fuel tank, it's a cheap and practical upgrade.

Bummer -- you are right about the leather seat centers and ventilated seats. I dunno if the configurator recently updated to show this under the ventilated seats option.
Note: For the 911 Carrera T, deletion of Sport-Tex seat centers and embroidered "911" logo on headrests is required.
The way I look at it, the Ethos of T isn't so much fun with a sweaty a$$ in the summertime.

EDIT: here's the side-by-side of ventilated seats with leather centers and no 911 logo versus non-ventilated seats with Sport-Tex centers and black embroidered 911 logo:

Are we sure it adds weight? I actually wonder if it is lighter because it removes the motor/mechanism that lifts the clamshell at speed.

Is the mechanism gone or just disabled?
