@Butzi901 I am a GB fan and have spent an embarrassing amount of time on the configurator. I have 3 suggestions for your GB build (and I spent $30 more of your money):
Choose the no-cost painted trim (gets rid of more interior black)
Add Shark Blue belts (not GB, but more BLUE)
Eliminate the high gloss exterior trim in black. (Standard trim is already black--not sure you will notice spending the $510)
I was told not to expect it back anytime soon. I added Burmester to my build begrudgingly because the base audio is bad and this is my daily driver.
...and even though it's way beyond normal, I'm sure Porsche is willing to deal with the extra margin dollars from the accelerated 'take rate' of the Burmester option, too.
Same situation was on the 718 side as well; I opened my checkbook wider and added Burmester to my 718 CGTS (that's inbound). I knew I didn't want to rip apart my new car for an audio upgrade and I'd never be pleased with base audio.

My SA is ordering a base 992 for himself and is stuck in the same dilemma - $0 bad audio or $5700 Burmester. I'm optimistic the semiconductor supply chain will stabilize in 1Q2023. In my industry (PCs), we have a glut of some chips but still a shortage of others.
Part of the T 'ethos' to me is lower cost, along with lower weight. I see the T as the enthusiast value play in the lineup. Not that a $120k (US $) starting price is a cheap car, but it does represent a relative value in the new 911 world. A tarted up T with all the expensive options at $140k or $150k doesn't make sense to me, even though carbon roof, LWBS, etc save weight or add performance. I'd consider a different model (S/GTS, or CPO GT3) if I got too far up the option list on a T. I believe weight does matter, even on a street car, which is another reason to keep the options light. Just my opinion, of course. Porsche has mastered the art of separating money from their buyers!
Agreed. But how does one actually get Porsche to accept an "ethos" order? Here in Canada, they're expecting $35k (about $29k USD) in options, making it hard to not tart it up.
Legit question...given the above, how would you guys spec the car with lots and lots of options?
@Wolf Fongul , here is my attempt...this was fun:http://www.porsche-code.com/PPCL4W88 While I tried to keep the weight down while running up the cost, agree with @6sigma that running up the cost is a violation of the T ethos.
The Lord bless and keep you,
TT

That's ridiculous. I'm in Mexico and there is no minimum spend on options. At least I haven't been given an expectation and I plan for my T to be a stripper. But being in your position, I'd start with the obvious for Canada: heated seats and heated steering wheel (~$1k) then move on to expensive items that save weight like the carbon roof (~$4k). I'm partial to unique colors so I'd check the box on PTS (~$12k) and sport design with gloss black and clear lights (~$8k) and spend the rest on wheels or interior. Something like that.

Told that dealer I won't bother as I don't believe "Porsche Germany" is forcing 911 customers to have minimum options of $35,400.

IMHO, that's too many options, but here's my take on that challenge :-)
So I have about a month or so before my freeze date, but I'm going into my dealer this week to make my final adjustments in case they freeze it earlier. Still waiting on word for a few features that are up in the air, but this is basically the build that I have landed on. I am 100% sold on Ruby, so that wont be changing (I also really want the colored belts so those stay too)... The options that I have not fully decided on are the seats (obviously want LWB but otherwise im back and forth on 18 vs 4)... I know they are heavier, but im willing to sacrifice it if the 18 allow me to create more of a bucket feel.
Besides the Seats, I just don't know if I want to spend the money on the roof even though I know it will help with weight and sort of breaks up the very bright ruby color a bit. If LWB are available, I wont be able to afford both so roof will go back to normal and seats will take its place...
