I’m a US customer. My lock is 3/31 and delivery 6/9. Seems like I’m a late car, which hopefully means I’ll have a chance at Bose and LWBS, but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Would love if you could elaborate on the S build. Not that I don't believe you but my build is ending up at $140k+ with the S with some of the same options I want (Manual, RAS, Sunroof, and Leather). Still think $130k is the sweet spot for a T build.

Here is my T build.

Hello all,
First Rennlist post so, a rookie here. I've been lurking on this thread for a while. I started with post #1 all the way through the "no way the T is happening", Mr. "No Tea", etc..... to the big announcement. All of your information sharing within the thread has been very helpful so first off, thank you!

Long story short, I spent a year and a half (May 2021 - November 2022) with a deposit awaiting a GT4 allocation from a local dealer (SF Bay Area). Started 9th on their list and was 4th before receiving the "it's not happening" call, followed by a returned deposit. Spent a few days pretty ticked about the dream not happening before acknowledging that there are lots bigger problems in life. Then, turned my attention to the possibility of a T. Went to another local dealer (one that my gf had purchased a 2021 Macan S from a year prior) and got lucky. After a quick sit down to develop a quick build sheet with the sales manager, I was slotted into #2 on their list with an estimated delivery date of around June/July 2023 (Sales manager was guessing as they're awaiting their next round of allocations soon). Stopped by this weekend with my $5k deposit ck and was told that #1 (their only confirmed allocation so far) dropped from the list so I took that (contingent upon LWBS availability). I'm currently in V070 (Order demand, released for order) status but only because I haven't provided a formal build code. If LWBS aren't available in time, I'm moving back to that original #2 slot.

Spec - Only thing I'm still not 100% certain on is color. I've narrowed the choices down to Guards, Python and Shark. Below is what I have so far.

I'm later still -- freeze point 5/2/23 and delivery 7/14/23. Maybe we'll get lucky and have unicorn MY23 T's with LWBS and Bose! 😁

Thank you. It was an interesting process. I started out with a much bigger build and somewhere in the process, I turned it into a competition to see how austere I could go. In the end, it was really only heated seats and wheel because I expect the car to end up in Canada and these are options that should be standard in a $100k car anyway. In my final submission I removed the 90L tank, the smokers package, and a few other low cost options that put me right at the $1k mark.

I don't really need to advertise that it's a T but I do think it'd be cool to have those in the know identify it so I'm keeping the mirrors but not the wheels.

Welcome to RL. I like seeing Guards Red but I wouldn't want to own one. It screams "look at me" too much on a car that already draws attention. Shark Blue is stunning but I find a lot of people have Shark Blue. Phython is stunning. I almost went with Phython myself but need something different for the purpose of my T. Do it!

I will preface with..I have both...but I love reading that Guards is "too look at me," but Python is stunning...I guess we know why they make color a choice!

I never said I wasn't crazy. Haha. My GT3 is GR, though it's getting a liquid wrap in Slate Gray as I type this.

Thanks for all the great ideas. PTS isn't available for the T I'm told, so other embellishments it is. Either that, or i force porsche to reject the build.

Me too Pivot,
I was thinking GT or Gentian but now I'm pushed towards Shark or Python.

Viewpoints differ so much on color! I think Ruby and Python are the colors that jump out as "look at me" more than anything else because nail polish pink and toxic green are just not colors that most people would remotely consider for a car. Red, regardless of shade, is relatively common on many cars, and Shark Blue, more or less, is an increasingly common and trendy GR86/Mustang/Camaro/Corvette color. I think color is a really tough choice on this particular car because it looks good in so many colors. Amethyst Metallic would be my first choice and I just might have done PTS to get it, but Porsche took that option off the table for better or worse. I would have also been happy with Aventurine Green but we don't get it for the T. I do love reading this thread though. So fun to hear the contrasting viewpoints.

FWIW, my current favorite offered color to look at is Ruby and I will be excited to see them in the wild, but I don't think I can do it for my own car. I've got 4 more months til my lock date and, as I told my wife, I think every color available will be my favorite at some point during this contemplation/planning phase!

@RichJ_cars completely agree. I particularly like GR in the smaller G50s, 964s. and 993s but perhaps because of size, not so much in the watercooled 911s. My GT3 is GR and I'm getting it wrapped. Between the wing, the cup exhaust and the color, it's just too much. On the other hand, there's something about the kermit green 997.1 RS that's very special. Same with the orange. And they transfer well to the 992. Just look at that Pastel Orange above. Stunning. We all have our point of references but I agree that even though I wouldn't want to live with certain colors, I don't think I've ever seen a color I can't appreciate on a 911.

If I can't decide on a color, I will sometimes follow the manufacturer on their launch color. In this case, Python Green. Although they also had racing yellow, GT silver, and some others for the press reviews. I like bold colors on a Porsche sports car and of your three choices I'd go python green and get the green T interior pack if I was going green. Personally, I'm leaning to racing yellow, although any given day I am considering gentian blue, ruby star, or python green. GR is a good red but just so common on Porsches, and red is a common color all around. Really can't go wrong they all look good!

Personally I think the 992 colour options aren't great. I'm a big fan of blues, but have Gentian on the Taycan and find Shark a bit too much. That's why I was super disappointed when the PTS option was off the table for 2023 builds, since Albert, Manaus, Oslo or Dark Sea are what I would have chosen. My GT Silver choice was really just because it's a classic, timeless colour, but it's not very exciting.

Agree, and a real shame since there are so many truly great colors in the catalog. None of the standard available colors scream at me as "that's the one." I'm sure Porsche does this to promote PTS sales. I'd love a gulf orange or Bahama yellow. GT silver really is a classic silver and has a lot of depth in the sunlight, just not as exciting as the bold bright colors.
