Anyone else experiencing any issues with your T?
2024 544 miles.
Got some bad news yesterday I had taken my T for service for an engine light without a code see attached email from service manager.
Good Morning Mr. Carnevale,
We pulled the oil pan down last night into this morning and found metal in the oil.
The engine will need to be replaced, and the next step is looking at parts availability via Porsche North America.
We aren't sure yet, but we are thinking that something is wrong with the Cylinder wall surface material that's coming apart.
We will know better once the engine is out of the car during the replacement and we can tear the engine down a bit.
Your other concern is that the engine will be with a remanufactured engine rather than a new engine.
This is a requirement of Porsche North America unfortunately.
If a "remanufactured" Part is available, we are required to install that component.
If it's not, then we are allowed to put in a "new" part.
This is controlled and mandated by Porsche North America and is uniform across all vehicle manufacturers in my experience.
I'm sorry this is happening, it's a rarity for sure so we don't have a huge amount of information. Please let me know if you have additional questions and we will do our best to answer and assist of course.
Apologetically
What a surprise I never expected to hear my engine was shot , now I wait for Porsche to buy the car back with another allocation for a new T.

@Evolution1 very sorry to hear about this. Definitely push for a buyback and I pray you aren't facing a battle here. Literally a brand new car.

That is simply not good enough from Porsche NAmerica!!
How do car dealers worldwide get away with breaking the law??
In the UK the law is called ‘The sale of goods act’.
This states that if the product is faulty / not fit for purpose within a 6 month period after purchase (even if not apparent on the day of purchase) you are entitled to your money back.
No doubt something similar applies in US?!
And yet they somehow get away with not complying😡

I bought a used audi s6 once that was a lemon buy back for a situation similar to this.

I assume the lemon law also applies to purchases of second hand products?
