The feeling was like a dream. Speccing your own 911: have never thought I could accomplish something like that in my life. Looking at all possible options and combinations it’s sometimes difficult to get in or out of that web. Never wanted the sport design package myself on the T. The straight front lines suits the design better for me than the curvy front spoiler lines. Also I like my license plate between the exhausts. So very very happy about that result in real life.
I ordered some things that I have never seen in person as well. So took a risk. The biggest risk was the backside of the seats in leather with the GR exterior color inserts. Have never seen it in real life so it was a bit of a gamble. But trusted myself enough. I thought my car is something special so might as well make something special out of it. I did not want my dash inserts to be in exterior color since I personally did not want it to pop out all the time in my view when driving. So choosing that on the back of the seats was a perfect solution.
Of course I did not order the tinted windows. That is something a lot of you would order (myself included) but with tinted windows looking at the GR backside of the seats would be impossible. And you just don’t buy this option to sit in the back of the car and look at them right? And the end result has me lost for words. Mind blown !
Here some minor peaks to the backside of the seats, exactly as I thought it should look:
Can I request that rennlisters don’t stop posting once they collect their cars!
We should continue after delivery giving feedback on first impressions etc etc
I knew from the beginning I did not want the red deviated stitching which is strange for me, since I just usually love that option. But because the car had so much red I really wanted the red details to pop out. So I went for the standard black stitching. The black look. Although the stitching is more of a dark grey as we know. The “911” on the headrest indeed looks very clear and love that as well. The red details pop out perfectly. So cannot be much happier.
Also the Race-Tex details are a dream. The steering wheel feels so insanely perfect. And fresh and new (my only experience was a second hand one with 50.000 miles). And also the manual just feels insane. Perfect in the hand. Very direct. But I will review this when I collect the car. But all the Race-Tex details are just beautiful. Although on the picture with the armcrest it looks off. But that is more from the sunlight. In real life it looks stunning. Finally my Porsche weapon on the armcrest!
Ending the story with not being lucky with the tombola since I got the Pirelli tyres. But the Michelins have already been ordered so when I collect the car those will be fitted. Will not enjoy other brands as much and knowing myself I would be constantly irritating myself. And changing new tyres is pretty cheap since you can exchange the other once for almost their new price. Also love the rear seat delete, that just gives the car the look that I wanted. That red exterior inlay would not look as good with the rear seats mounted.
Also the white part on the lights will remain a small issue, but maybe I need to look at them being white just like the executive lights on the back. They actually look a lot better in real life than I thought though. Just drive the darn thing
@Macboy the car looks great! I really like the way the red seat backs looks from outside the car through the rear window, especially without rear seats, as you noted.
What do you mean about trading in your Pirellis? Are you getting a credit for them?

On my Neo rubystar T I opted for the base interior / free rubystar interior trim pieces and checked every box for race-Tex that was available. Steering wheel, headliner, cabin lights on the roof - seat belt ratchet on the sidewalks, sunshades. Every race-Tex box available.
My SA - also the sales manager, got the black gloss aero kit approved before we entered the order and it is still on the order and the build locked last week. I notice on the change to the 24’ configurator that this black gloss aero kit is not shown any longer so maybe if my car really shows up with the silly wing it will be a rare bird ….
i added all the performance options and safe driving options. That lane change keep has saved me a couple times when distracted / it really does work. Night vision and auto parking are useless- did not do those. The surround view camera is fantastic and will save scratching up your wheels. Worth every penny and lane change alert should be standard.
FAL is for children only, Just learn to drive out and in driveways at an angle and even over speed bumps, every FAL car has the front end scratched up underneath- it lulls you into thinking you don’t have to have some discipline in and out of driveways.
order this peel and stick vinyl protection strip for under the front bumper for $80 - just in case —
My original order was green ext and green interior - but then I thought this combination will be fairly common and it is really green outside….
So I thought the Neo Rubystar was sort of a PTS looking color for a lot less than $12,000 - and weird enough that it might not be a common choice.
Also I have owned four new Porsche’s in the last few years and I labored over the deviated stitching like a girl picking a ribbon for her hair and I realized I hardly notice the stitching I paid a lot of money extra for on my other four cars. The simple interiors - in black particularly- have this serious business like look that I think fits the T personality and I like the base fabric insert weave look more than the stripes.
Spyder wheels and gloss black window trim and clear tail lights. If it was not locked I might nix the clear tail lights. I was looking at the clear tail lights on my 911 Targa 4 - and at night they light up red anyway and really the clear tail lights are not all that much better for $900. Besides I sold this T to my wife as “her” car so the neo rubystar was also a nod to this little white exaggeration and worth the price to get this fourth Porsche in the garage.
One of these days I probably should mention the second T in Guard’s Red from another dealer which is “my” 911 T coming unfortunately a few weeks before “her” neo Rubystar T.
Ever since the heart attack and the quad-bypass surgery I have been on a somewhat frivolous and imprudent spending of my kids inheritance.
Maybe that anesthesia does change your personality from cheap money hoarder to Porsche imprudent car collector. I had a time in the last three years without a Porsche allocation in the works and it felt a little like what I expect drug addicts must feel when they don’t have a supply of their favorite poison of choice.
Going to the “repair” discussions just seems less fulfilling than this group discussion on what deviated stitching color goes with what exterior color.
I just heard back from my friend SA who send me these pictures from the T-package in slate grey but without the full leather (the one from yesterday). So the tunnel is confirmed in leather with slate grey stitching. The floormats are clearly not black. But it could be chalk. Not comfirmed yet. Armcrest also not confirmed yet. The stitching SAGA continues.
I also have the official dealer pictures of a T-package full leather interior in slate grey. Not a big difference it seems. Also did not recognize the T package seats inserts. Thought it was the checkered flag at first.

There speaks someone that doesn’t have much experience of speed bumps - doesn’t live where I live… London, famous for some of the worst speed bumps anywhere.
Trust me my friend, if my Taycan scrapes even WITH FAL and the T is 10mm lower than a standard 911 …. Say no more!
So don’t pay too much attention to that comment!
Judge for yourself and maybe talk to someone with a 911 that knows your area first.
