checking this for you just now, somehow in the last few hours, my Production Conpleted date has slipped from tomorrow to June 17th. Ugh.

Sbbaker109, thank you for sharing your thought process on this, which frankly is the same as mine -- not sure if I want a 3rd color inside (although silver would be really close to chalk, which I know I don't want to have to keep clean). I've already got 4 colors on the exterior (Dolomite, Silver Targa Bar, blue roof, and of course the black plastic in places), so maybe shouldn't add another color inside. Many thanks again for your thoughts

A very poignant story that will vibrate many heartstrings as it covers so many of the hurdles that we encounter in our various Porsche fantasies. So much of what you relate parallels my own experience with an order for European delivery of my third "last" Porsche, an order placed in September 2018 for a Turbo S to replace a perfectly fine 991.1 Turbo S (2014) with 60,000 miles, in excellent condition. At 86, I am so physically past my track fantasies, never realized, and never attempted, that I can slip between the seated comfort of a rocking chair, an overstuffed sofa, the seat of a Tesla Plaid (2021) and my new 2022 Turbo S. I had the pleasure of watching Ken Miles drive a 550 Spyder at Paramount Ranch, when I was a pre-med at UCLA, and made a real world adjustment to get my first car, a new 1957 Volkswagen, just before I started medical school at USC. Air cooled, flat engines, in the rear, designed by Porsche, Komenda bodies, I was hooked. Underdog engine size beating Gull Wings and Ferraris, I was hooked. Just before I entered practice (nephrology), doing ER shifts, I scraped together the cash for a downpayment on my first real Porsche. The 356's which I thought were the most beautiful things God created had vanished from the dealers by the time I got there, and the new 911, at first glance, was not as beautiful as its predecessors. The Carrera 2's (I think that was what they were called) were way too expensive and had very temperamental engines. I was left with little choice but to buy a 912. From 36 HP to about 90, as I recall, and not quite as likely to oversteer and spin as the Beetle. By 1969, I stepped up to an 911S, this time with Alan Johnson's short course gearing and ring and pinion, and I had a fabulous car. It just kept getting better. It grew into being an outlaw 911ST before I new that that particular model had existed in tiny numbers. I bought a new Porsche as my business car, about every 4-8 years. By 1996, I was in a 993 Turbo, the best Porsche I ever owned, after it became a twin plug massaged by Dieter Inzenhoffer of Andial. I drove it for 195,000 miles, until the trips to the dialysis units and the lack of hands free phone, and finally the 997 TurboS, had me momentarily convinced that luxury and convenience should displace history and familiarity.... to my everlasting regret. My son has restored the 1969 911S, and the 993 Turbo is in the appreciative hands of a Seattle neurosurgeon, and I'm sure I couldn't have it back whatever I offered him. That 997 was going to be my last Porsche. But I kept on working, and I still needed a business car, so the 991.1 was picked up at the factory, driven to a castle on the Rhine (with my sweetheart, of course), 150 mph on the Autobahn, 2 laps of the Nurburgring, a visit to Bastogne to commemorate The Battle of the Bulge, and then 5 days of medical conference, the International Congress of Nephrology in Amsterdam, to assure the IRS that my 9 days in Europe was a business trip. To provide icing on the cake, I selected courtesy delivery in Falmouth, Maine, just about as far from my then home in Santa Ana, CA and enjoyed 4,700 miles/17 days, down the east coast, across the south into the midwest and finally home.
I retired from 50 years of nephrology practice, really encourage by my way too patient wife, who had put up with 7 days a week responsibilities for more than 30 years, and drove my 991.1 Turbo S, my second "last" Porsche to our dream location, Marin County, outside of San Francisco, to enjoy retirement, and play pickleball, and fight for universal health care. I missed medicine, so I found a little spot at a safety net clinic, and I worked a couple of half days a month, and grew sunflowers and peaches and apples. I even went to a Porsche club event because I had time. I had decided that I wasn't bad for an old geezer on the Nurburgring, with an advisory co-pilot, but I had to acknowledge that I had missed the boat, by at least 50 years. (I'm competitive, too, so being the fastest old geezer nephrologist, is a point of pride, if we keep it in a straight line.)
Then, to have my cake and eat it, I bought a 2015 Tesla Model S P85D Ludicrous, for my dear little wife, who loves the way Lexus dealers roll out the red carpet. It was going to be her car. Too, big. Our son, in West Linn, now has that one.
Along comes the 992, and the roll out of the various models, and what would be nicer, I thought, than taking the woman of my dreams on a road trip through the Scottish Highlands. In a 992 Turbo S. Pickup in Edinburgh. Drop off in London. Maybe, visit Wales, and Doc Martin's stomping grounds. Early order. First one on the list at Marin Porsche. September 2018. March 2020. COVID lock downs. The offer to configure with each allocation as I sat on the top of the list, was deferred to the resolution of the crisis and the return to European Delivery. And then the prices started going up. And up! And up higher. Mine was a deposited MSRP with no adjustments, and finally in November, I configured, and as I had conversed with the Porsche Board of Directors over following production, way back in 2011, and now Porsche had FYD, I watched mine, from afar, and learned far more about automotive logistics, roll-on, roll off auto transporters, the Azores, the Portuguese Navy and the Felicity Ace than I ever dreamed I would know.
The Glovis Sonic reached Benecia at 2:30 AM, guided by a San Francisco Bar Pilot, and I had called the operations room on a Sunday, and was able to meet the ship moments after it docked, driving the 2021 Tesla Plaid, that in a straight line, one time at least, would out accelerate any road Porsche to 60.
If you'd like a few hints about the castle, the Nurburgring.... I strongly recommend a taxi ride in a GT3 which showed me where I fit on the driver totem pole... just let me know. You tell a great story, and, as you see, it motivated me to tell mine.

Stunningly, gorgeous. Makes me wish that I had tinted my 992 Turbo S, also Gentian Blue.

I put in my order for a C2 in March. Will probably get it by summer 2023. My first 911, very excited!
I'm going to daily drive the crap out of this in Canada except for the heavy snow days. My 987/981 were daily driven base model 6-speeds and aftermarket lowered. It was fine with good winter tires.
My options for the C2:
-RS Spyder rims
-PSE
I was on the fence for a C2S with just the manual sports package but....since i'm sharing this with my wife, she prefers PDK so it's a compromise.

tinkll1, I have read perhaps hundreds of posts on these threads as I prepare to lock my build on a Targa 4 GTS at the end of the month, but none of those posts has touched me like yours. Although a quarter century younger having gone through a different professional school (law), I saw a lot of similarities in your story and mine, and I'm so glad that you shared your story. I only hope that the next 25 years shared by my wife and me (which will put us up near 60 in total, God willing) are as fruitful and enjoyable for us as they have been for you and your bride -- keep pushing your Porsche in a straight line!!

Been stuck at emden for 2 weeks. Says next step (loaded on Roro) was due 5/20 but still nothing.
Still has my arrival date at 6/17. I assumed I’d be on the supreme ace as I’m east coast. Anyone else in this predicament?

Mine went into production 5/12, got a VIN on TYD 5/16 was due to complete 5/19 but now it's saying 6/22. Assume this is supply chain delays? Anyone else seeing a one month delay?
