Until we read something from the Porsche PR team stating the factory is open (which they will definitely write about since a press release helps with positive news and helps the parent company VW stock price) no one is getting their car on time. My order locked March 3rd. I was supposed to receive my car May 15. That has been pushed 3 times and now my planned delivery date is July 17 ( DC area).

In the German press, Porsche has stated supply chain issues have made it impossible to reopen the factory quickly. Get ready to sit on your hands for quite a while.

Yes, I am wondering about the start up - it’s a massive global supply chain that needs to be brought up to just-in-time delivery speed. So it’s the skilled workers, parts, and delivery systems that need to be brought on line. What a nightmare.

I’ll have to suffer with my ‘17 991.2, lol.

As from next Monday (4 May), Porsche is restarting production on a site- and task-specific basis. All the required measures have been taken in advance to guarantee the maximum possible safety for employees and so that production can be increased in stages up to full capacity.

Yep, but 911’s are assembled in Stuttgart. No mention of that start-up date.

911s are built at the Zuffenhausen plant, Zuffenhausen is a district of Stuttgart.

Those pictures are interesting—were the workers wearing masks before the shutdown?

All this talk about orders switching to 2021 models, and when that switch may/will happen has me worries cause I have a Miami Blue build and I know they're dropping the color for 2021. I've been dreaming of a Miami Blue 911 for years and now I have finally have the order for one (since Feb)...would suck if that didn't happen.

I would think you'd be fine, I wouldn't worry about it a bit. Even if they swap to MY21s, Miami Blue is a common color across their line and I'd wager they'll hook you up.

Same—my order is for Miami Blue and I’ll be bummed if I need to switch. Unless it is to Mexico Blue :-)

Reports today out of Germany that infection has spiked since they eased their lockdown. It's possible the country could go into full lock-down again.
