Dealer is ordering mine on Monday...

chalk, pdk rear steering, sport package, no sunroof. Sport Tex, 18 way seats. Yes, I plan to track it.

It's lightweight acoustic glass, so reduces interior tire/road noise.

Being completely unfamiliar with this option... is it a meaningful improvement in tire/road noise vs the standard glass?

I'm unclear if it has been offered on 911s before, I think it has been on higher models?, so hopefully someone else can chime in. On Macans and Panameras I've seen positive reviews and it should help at least a bit with tire noise.

My dealer just got his allocations for the rest of the year. He gets one 911, mine. That’s all. He said if he had known that, he would not be giving me the discount. He gets a total of 38 cars the rest of the year. I expect dealers will not be willing to discount cars the rest of the year due to the decrease in allocations. It also means if you want a car this year, get your order in now...

I think that is why my dealer was so anxious about getting my 991.2 back on lease end with my 992 purchase.

Same here. My finished car was supposed to be on a ship now.

I'm in the same boat (unfortunately, not literally-- mine should have been on the ship now too)....

The 718 forum has a few people trying to figure out when their GT4/Spyders leave Emden, and it seems like a ship has set sail for Davisville. No word on any ships leaving for the west coast or Canada.

Any other Canucks hear something about getting their car out of Emden recently?

By the time my 992 gets here I'll have spent 9 months in a loaner or rental car.

Obviously if I knew I'd be waiting this long I'd have purchased a car in the meantime but it's been chunks of "oh just a few more months" so I just keep getting a rental to avoid the cost/hassle of buying & then trading in a car.

I've never been forced to be this patient in my life but I'm hoping it all pays off.

Whoa. My last rental was $750 a month for 3 months inc insurance, the one I'm picking up Monday is the wonderful COVID price of $450 a month for 3 months. So at least I have saved a LOT of money and feel better about ticking a couple extra options.
