Wish they would chooser a different background, or offer others. Kinda getting tired of the same freeway scene.

My 992 was delivered to my home a few days ago. I guess I'm officially out of the waiting room

Whoa, that’s a heck of a delay. Will that be a MY 2021?

YES...Posted pictures earlier of the build. My Dealer advised anything ordered after March 20, will be a 2021. Ours is the first from Palm Springs Porsche. There is a possibility of an earlier delivery, but????

I don't think that's the case if you already have a build allocated (at least that is what I have been told--if you are at V200 you are in mix for a build when the factory reopens--hopefully very soon). I think this late delivery and model year 2021 applies to customers who were trying to get an allocation and didn't have it before the shut down. BTW...my build date is the same as yours (mid-May) and as of Friday that hadn't changed. If I hear anything different I'll let you know. If I have the wrong information please let me know too!

I had specified a 21 build allocation. Initially thought I’d be taking delivery sometime in October, but as of now, looks like mid-late December.

Original lock date 6 April, now still at 6 June. After numerous attempts through the dealer, through PNA, and through the motherland, it seems that “Track Your Dream” is not happening at the moment for me. Perhaps the remaining workers are focused on other things, like how the hell do we start up this massive production line again? With suppliers running lean production, do they have enough skilled workers to run their complex manufacturing systems? Do they have their COVID protocols in place for worker safety? Do they have enough safety gear - is it even available? They need to validate operation/capacity all of their suppliers. They need to validate just-in-time delivery of goods. They need to insure quality and do trail runs through the entire supply chain. With 14,000 parts in an average car, just imagine the complexity. Re-start is going to be a total nightmare.

I think that’s the big unknown at the moment. I have an order date (v200) of March 4, and right now on TYD I show a delivery date of September 18. I am wondering if they will either a) finish a certain number of cars ordered by X date as MY2020, and then switch to MY2021 or b) will simply end up pushing everything to MY2021. I saw one article that said the factory will reopen tomorrow. If that happens I am guessing we’ll have more information in the next week or two.

Well said, a realistic view of the hurdles associated with illuminating the “open” sign in a complex manufacturing environment during this pandemic.
