All I got to say is thank goodness it's not an American election year.... otherwise the factory would likely halt for significantly longer due to a man made "pandemic".

Guess Porsche made adm legit as the config site made it clear that "Dealer sets actual selling price”.

Nope

Demand made ADM a reality.

Any human being or company, getting what someone will pay for something is not being greedy. If that’s the case, you had better sell your house and what you paid for it when and if you do sell it. Otherwise by your own definition you’re greedy. Same thing goes with any of your cars or any other thing you own.

I suspect you hate auctions. Talk about greedy.

Lastly, this doesn’t mean we have to be happy about it. My addiction is not cars but timepieces. Because of the awesome economy we had in the late teens combined with the hype placed on social media most watches significantly went up in price. Now luckily, I have lots of connections and can get what I want at retail but I still have to wait. Do I like this? Hell no. But I’m going to tell you this good sir, when it comes time to sell any watch in my collection I’m going to get every last dime I can for it. As would any other normal person.
What do you sell?

You obviously understand target markets and I can assure you those coastal states aren't target markets if those dealers have current generation Turbo S's or GT cars on the floor or they're way out of market pricing catering to the out of state buyer.

The demand yes has driven adm, but I can assure you there are more bad dealers than there are good ones.

Regards to watches..... I don't get it. I'd rather invest into more properties. Its even weird to me my dealer gives me matching Porsche Design Vin specific watches for my Turbo S and GT cars that match the 4rs and the 3rs that's on order. I'd rather rock a Garmin Delta Tactix with a ballistics calculator for long range shooting.

I have a couple friends that would jump on that so fast right now the Porsche Salesman would not be able to finish his sentence. In Florida very few people are allowed the privilege of getting one of those allocations for 120K over MSRP. Or more. Don’t get me wrong I bump into people from time to time they tell me they get them at MSRP but I don’t believe them. No dealerships going to give up an extra 120 K. Well, not the bright ones anyway. The whole thing sucks. Same thing has been happening for years in the Watch world. The only thing that’s going to change it is a poor economy in my opinion.
There's still few dealers out there who sell msrp to locals, very few I assume, but I can tell you mine got me a GT3 and my friend an RS at msrp as first time buyers.
When I inquired about the practice they said they get more return business because of it than the ADM would bring. If you're a local and get your name on the list early enough, you'll get a car. Needless to say all my future cars (they have other brands as well) will be with them.

your friend got an actual 992 RS allocation in hand right now at MSRP as a first time buyer? Already has the commission number? Or just a promise to get one at MSRP if allocation arrives? Big difference. Most dealers are absolutely swamped with requests from long time local buyers, so it’s encouraging to those who are new to Porsche, but also hard to believe given the massive interest in these cars.

The long time customers obviously get the first ones. After that it's first come first served. He put his name on the list 2 years ago.

Yes, the car just arrived to the US and is the new shiny toy. Plus, then you have the "people always want most what they don't have" or easily get. I'm going to wait until late next year to see how things play out with the GT3RS and during that time Pista and Speciale prices will continue to drift lower too.

Coupled with perceived scarcity along with some stealer collusion equals BIG ADMs.

There are definitely more bad dealers now than before Covid because the ADM money grab has been too hard to resist but there are still dozens of good guy deals throughout the US but less and less as time goes on unfortunately.

In the same boat here on the sidelines to see what plays out. While id love to get an RS and would pay some ADM (not 100k-200k) I agree if pricing stays high I will absolutely consider a Pista or possibly 765lt.

you guys talking about pistas...asking and selling prices are staying very big on those. 500k+ and 650+ for spiders. F8 coupes are finally down to 30-40k over msrp but spiders still 80-100+. 812 GTS still way over msrp.

why? ferrari dealers and factory have everyone on a ranking system so clients have to either keep their cars, or hold a certain amount to earn the big stuff which is usually worth WAY over (like a few nautilus PP). next ranking snapshots will be for

SF90LM
SF90LM-A
296 + version
LaF successor
812 replacement

If porsche did the same thing and had a real tiered system- the GT cars and even some random stuff like Cayenne Turbo GT would stay over msrp indefinitely or WAY over. It would make the 918 VIP program look like preschool.
