They never told him he had an MSRP allocation...and how are you assuming he's a "good customer"?

He said he has a 718. That's one Porsche and who knows where he bought it from. Lots of assumptions on your end.

Unfortunately you are wrong based on what he said below...

"This was an MSRP dealer in the past that is now under new ownership. Thought this data point would be helpful to anyone reading this thread."

Like he said, owner changed and they went from being an MSRP dealer to a non-MSRP dealer based upon an ownership change. But hey, here's in this thread so he can provide more clarity.

That means they thought that he could sell the car for around $290k-$300k (assuming a 10% profit margin).

Thank you!
I am familiar with Dakar ADMs nationwide. Where are you based? From my research most of the remaining allocations are on the West Coast, since they get more overall. Best I have been offered +$35K (+ must option roof rack and tent which costs ~$15K total and must be local) and others have asked up to $100K+. One of the biggest rip off LA dealers is asking $75K so given they tend to be on the higher end, you should be able to get this price for an allocation. Porsche Ontario and Westlake are claiming they have sold allocations for $150K over, not sure I believe them, for a built car there is a dealer in SoCal that is asking $60K over. Middle America and East Coast don't have them available, and if they do they require you to live there so I personally was not able to get real answers outside of West Coast. One dealer said they have sold all of their previous allocations for $60K. Porsche is really pushing the roof rack and tent, so may be able to use this as part of your negotiation to close a deal, similar to the GT3 and watches. Hope this helps.

I think we all know it's a bit more gray rather a than as black and white as you make it out to be.

A volume repeat customer that has a GT car purchasing history may get MSRP at the same dealer that a first time purchaser may have to pay ADM.

ADM's also appear to be equally robust.

Look no further than the following used 992 GT3 Touring's from Porsche of North Houston with massive ADM's.
The Ruby Star Neo Touring has an MSRP of $194,400.

Gentian Blue recently sold and I believe last list was 296.

They have another used Gentian Blue with 5,276 miles on it for $286,000
Looks like a pretty hefty $60,000 ADM for a used GT car.

If a Porsche dealer can sell all the allocations they can get for the sports cars (911, Cayman, Boxster) for a substantial ADM for the foreseeable future (due to demand staying well above supply), I don't see why they wouldn't sell them all at ADM, except to customers who reliably bring in a lot of service business, trade ins, and sales of the SUVs and sedans. Doesn't seem unreasonable that they would sell at MSRP only the customers in the latter category. If I was a dealer, I wouldn't easily forego tens of thousands of dollars of extra profit per car. We would all be 'greedy' if we were dealers.

You have an axe to grind with PNH? CJ has provided some great info to forum members over the years and has never pumped himself up from what I've seen.
His shared info has also helped many, including myself in getting into a GT car.

So what's your damage man? Even after the timeout, you're still the antagonist...

CJ is probably the best single resource in all of RL. He's a renaissance man, has already done multiple lifetimes worth of stuff.

Let's be clear... ADM is when dealerships markup brand new cars above MSRP. Used cars priced above MSRP is just market pricing... we don't know what the dealer paid to obtain their used cars.

Yep, and sometimes dealers overpay for a used car and take a loss in selling it.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
This is an ADM thread and I posted a data-point for a used GT car.

I simply replied to the previous poster who quoted a post of mine and had mentioned a Gentian Blue GT3 at PNH.
I have never once called any dealer here a stealership as other posters have repeatedly done.

I'm friendly with CJ Wilson.
What does he have to do with Porsche of North Houston?

All true.
I've enjoyed chatting with him.
