Yeah as the bitcoin/crypto bros are gone, interest for car loans going higher, used car market softening, and economy slowing so of course you are seeing the flippers disappear from the "hot money" cars like the C8. Those big ADMs on Type Rs and Golf Rs will start to evaporate like a fart in the wind in 2023. Supply chain constraints can only support prices for so long because at the end of the day all of these car markers are for-profit entities who need to build and sell cars. These cars are not investments, they are depreciating commodities.
Type R probably won't cool down in 2023. That car just came out and is every JDM fans wet dream. Golf R may cool slightly, but they are having crazy production/supply chain issues. Only 1200-1500 this year to US and same for next year. Every dealer I've reached out to on them has 5-15 people on the list, and most dealers are only getting 1-2 a year.

VW is hardly making the Golf R. When I bought my R32 in 2004 they made 5,000 of them in their first year.
That car never got produced again until something like 2008 and even then, you could only get it in DSG. No Manual.
A blue one with 51,000 in mint condition just went for $42,500 on BAT last Friday. Like you said, VW is only making 12 - 1500 this year for the U.S.
The people that think that these cars are readily available have no idea what they're talking about. They really dont.
And as far as supply-chain issues are concerned, think again. - - - Hell, Porsche has a stop on PCCB's until next MARCH, even on TTS.

I was kidding about Turbo S models rolling off the line with irons in another thread. Is this for real now?
What will they get, a $500 voucher, too?

Yeah wow, this car: https://www.raycatena.com/inventory/...ac2a90ns268532
This is the ideal RL spec lol. Expensive paint SB, PCCB, Bucket Seats, 6-speed, FAL, full leather and a ton of other options with CPO. That is a big build, literally every option
249k.

Hard to see these coming down to MSRP any time soon when 991.2 Tourings are still selling for over (see black one currently on BaT). It'll happen eventuially though - that I agree with

Assuming that listed cars must be sold, prices will ultimately be determined by what sellers are willing to pay. As sellers willing to pay really high prices dry up, prices will continue to fall. I think this will happen gradually, unless there’s a sharp and sustained economic downturn.
The circumstances which created the bubble were unique, and I don’t think we’ll see another such bubble for a long time. But some cars (eg, air cooled, CGT) have become collector’s cars, and I don’t think we’ll ever see bargain prices on those again.

So, I know what market listed prices are like. I was wondering if I offered $20k over MSRP for a used (2000 mile) gt3 would the dealer laugh at my offer ?
