One car I would add is Honda S2000. Its slow as hell but has that early 2000s rawness/flimsiness that makes it a fun car to drive. Definitely better feel than miata.

Well s2k had msrp of mid 30k back then which is mid 50k now. You can get a low mileage example for 60k these days so nothing too crazy. And s2k will retain its value as modern classic. Its slow but I loved the flimsy soft top, digital tach and etc. Truly the last great honda.

Partially true as part of the deal for me to get new GT cars at MSRP is to trade back a car those sold me which they'll sell for higher than what I get but I rather have a relationship with a good dealer knows that I don't have to beg or pay an eye watering for a GT allocation. In my line of work, it's about the relationships not the transactions and the same applies to my dealer. You don't shop for a relationship, you establish one in time when both sides benefit.

Just spoke to South Bay, who other rennlisters have said have been able to get cars around MSRP in a downturn, the individual I spoke to claimed all of their GT3s sell for $125K-$150K over and they sell immediately, lmao, yet the car I called in about has been listed over 100 days. I understand the dealers who are trying to make the most of what they have, but to straight up lie and make up numbers is really a sad state to be in. These are the types of guys I hope really feel a downturn, grimiest of grimy
These guys are lost right now, I am assuming you're referring to the black touring. I spoke with them a little while ago seeing if they would get me a gt3rs or gt4rs for anything remotely reasonable and they couldn't to no surprise there. But, the feeling I got there is if you dropped 50k on their desk and said gimme...they'd probably bite. Once they told me 75k over was the ask, another time they said 100k.
But yeah, that thing has been sitting a very long time and they somehow haven't found 1 sucker. They are blatant liars there now and their service shop should be arrested for robbery with the quotes they give.

That should make them a Stealer (to normal folks) in your "high toned and oft verbalized" ranting about Stealers?.... but you can rationalize anything, at any time!

I suppose you’re right. Staying at a Motel 6 is the same experience you’d get at a Ritz-Carlton. A pillow and a bed.
