I agree with many of the comments in that post. True - the GTS/GT3/Special Edition models have appreciated and are 'limited editions' for lack of better term, but the 'standard' Carrera/Carrera S seem to have peaked between Jun-Aug and have started to sit and come down in price from the $8x,xxx they rose to (although that is only 'asking' not 'sell' prices). From recent dialogue with sellers the majority of 'sell' prices seem to be in the $68-74k range depending on mileage/options. I'll guess they'll slowly lighten a bit more over the next few months.

This holiday season is going to be very interesting, I suspect that there will be shortages in electronic items and some price gouging. I am a bit guilty of playing a part in this because I did just order a new mac book pro and expect to buy a TV on black Friday, but the players like Apple and Samsung kept their chip orders whereas many auto makers didn't so they could get out of it OK if the containers can get delivered at these backlogged ports.
I do agree that the high pricing for cars like the 911 will persist into next year. There may be a temporary winter dip in pricing, but next spring should send these prices even higher than they are now. Automotive inventory positions are just not improving and a few manufacturers are hiking the MSRP's (more than the norm) for new models as well, which will drive average used car prices up even higher.
The products I manage just had their 3rd price increase in 1 year. First was 5% increase, then everything imported got hit with a 25% duty (was just a few products prior to this year), then a 10% increase, and now a freight surcharge that adds anywhere from another 5% to 10% (depending on packaging size) on top of the previous hikes. I'm really getting tired of adjusting pricing and so are the retailers and consumers. This is playing a part in future development, maximizing container efficiency, cost cutting, etc. Not a place I wish to be right now.

2015 911 cab with 9k miles for $99k https://www.longislandsportscars.com...911-Roslyn-NY/
2015 911 C4S cab with 11k miles for $119k https://www.longislandsportscars.com...911-Roslyn-NY/
I was out there late this summer and they were selling them as fast as they were getting them in (including my '15 C4S for $99k which is beginning to seem more reasonable)
It raises the question - if a new 992 C4S decently optioned is $180k+ and you have to wait a year, what are these worth?

If things continue the way they have been, and get progressively worse, next spring these car values are going to reach new highs.
Unfortunately for me. It just does not matter. I am not selling anything. So it just raises the agreed insurance value and costs.

Completely agree, especially if you have to wait 1-2yr for your build. Check these guys out. They seem to be trading more Porsches than Aston Martins & McClarens these days...

Very hard to find cabs with high specs in Florida, most you find is base or with high milage. Porsche dealers around here are empty

Drove by the Porsche of Edison dealership a few weeks back and thought they had moved. The lot was practically empty and showroom had a few SUV in there. No 911, or anything two door to be honest, to be seen. If you didn't buy a year or so ago, you're going to pay a lot more in next few months. Better buy to keep, because it won't be a buy to sell short term.
