991 pricing is out of control right now

At least the dealership car is CPO. $120k through BaT is insane speculation at this point. That car was nothing special other than MT. Didn't even have PSE. Oy.

I am so tempted to sell my 991.2. I have a kid on the way and have to start commuting every day so the 911 just isn't that practical.....just know i'll regret it and probably never rebuy it

I was tempted (although momentarily) to sell my .1 GTS last week after a near $100K trade in cash offer from CarMax, thought to myself "sell it now and get a 992 GTS allocation".
Wife and I talked about it over morning coffee too.. financially a no brainer, $50-$60K more for me on top of my trade in, strange thing is, all the reasons I always wanted a .1 GTS, Power-kit N/A engine, wide body RWD etc... none of it applies to the new "GTS"anymore. N/A engine and its glorious sounds, feel and buildup is only available in GT3, wide body RWD can be had in even a Base 992. The so called power delta can be had by simple bolt on mods to a base 992.. The new GTS, to me, is simply a past generation "911 Turbo" although one CAN have it in RWD only, which is a plus. For a traditional Porsche buyer, what is the benefit of buying a 992 GTS over a 992 Base? more options and a GTS badge?
Porsche has swiftly eliminated a choice that was/is preferred by a ton of buyers, and our only choice is to hunt for older cars or get GT3 allocations. ( I know it started with the 991.2 but as the N/A choices dry up, this loss is even more evident)
And hence why vast majority of us will just hang on to our cars.
P.S this is a subjective opinion post and not meant to start a pissing contest

Had an "informal" discussion with the sales guy who sold me my '18 991.2 GTS. He inferred that I could probably get LIST price on a trade if I sold the car to them now and picked up my new car late spring or early summer next year. That would mean driving my daily beater for ~9 months! I think I'll pass...

Dealerships in North America will be getting a handful of 992's in Q4, but after that, there is no telling as to when dealerships will be getting additional new stock. By the time the GT3 makes its way over here, the 992.2's will probably start showing up in camo spy pics...
Mercedes is 1+ year out for new car deliveries on several models now that they're feeling the chip/semi-conductor shortage. This will continue across the automotive industry until global supply chains can catch up and many analysts are forecasting as far out as 2023 for regular production to resume for many automakers.

as for 992gts, if you haven't been on the list yet min lead time is 1yr. At this day & age I'll not sell my current car without hands on the replacement

I'm going back to the dealership next week to pick the options. It's going to be my Phoenix-to-LA car and I'd prefer to stay on the smoother, quieter and more discrete end of the scale. I'm not going to buy a Turbo, but money's not really much of a concern. Any suggestions as to how Nox Vidmate VLC best to spend my money?
