I just learned some new information (new to me, at least) concerning the stop sale and why it was issued. I'm aware of 2 class actions that have been filed against Porsche - one in California (filed in Oct 2020), and a new one in Pennsylvania (filed in Apr 2021). From the second case, it appears the Sport Chrono problem that prompted Porsche to initiate the stop-sale involves only Sport+ mode. Here's a quote from an online article about this:
"The issues stem from the drive mode selector, which, when put into 'Sport Plus' mode, may see the car emit more nitrogen oxide than U.S. regulations permit. Sport Plus mode is made for extreme driving on a track, rather than on the street, but it still falls under the legal emissions cap. 'The problem is delicate, as the emissions were found to be within limits when the drive mode selector was placed in Normal and Sport modes. The Sport Plus mode was even within the limits under certain conditions, so it’s tough to pinpoint the issue.'
The article is here: https://www.driving.ca/auto-news/new...sions-problems.

Porsche of Austin has sold several 991.1's with Sport Chrono in the last couple of months since I have been looking. It is the spec that I have been searching for so I have been watching for them pretty closely. They haven't been on the lot more than a week before they are back out the door. Apparently the stop sale isn't slowing them down.

@Debo18D -

Were these PDK transmission cars? And if so, do you know for sure that they were actually sold and delivered to customers or just do no longer show as being for sale?

I spoke with a rep at a dealer who told me the manual transmission 991.1's have been cleared - can anyone else verify?

I think some dealerships are moving some but they are also stuck with some. We talked at length today about it at my local P-store and the sales manager told me that Porsche is very gun shy after the VW dieselgate thing. So they are pushing pause until they figure it out. One thing he did mention was that the dealerships HAVE to accept them as trades but then aren't supposed to move them. So they are stacking up in inventory. It is so weird.

Well, I got mine this week (2014 Carrera S in Agate Grey Metallic with SC) so I won't worry about it just yet.

Where did you get it? Is it a manual or PDK?

I believe it was only PDK ones all along.

From out of state from a Jaguar dealership. It's a PDK with 17k miles. I'll post pics when she is delivered.

I just checked with my dealer about whether it would take my 2013 C2S SP 991.1 in trade for a 991.2. I asked about whether my car was subject to the stop-sale and if so whether that would be problematic. I was told the stop-sale was still in effect but "we'll figure something out." It seems to me there are only so many times a dealership will be willing to take in a 991.1 if it can't currently, and doesn't know when it will be able to, sell it. Perhaps Porsche is helping dealerships underwrite the cost of holding the cars?

Hey Guys. So I spoke with my dealer about my car thats currently affected by the stop sale. I bought a 2014 911 in February and they still have not released the car for me snice. The manager I spoke with said this will most likely go past the summer. Im still making payments on the car and they have given me a loaner car in the meanwhile.

This my update for Toronto/Canada

I hope the loaner is nice because if it were me I'd be telling them to unwind the deal. They sold something they could not deliver.
