If this started in November last year and dealers are buying cars as they normally would, how much inventory are they sitting on? That must be a significant carrying cost for them?
I recently just picked up a 991.1 S with sport chrono. It was a 2013. Did the stop sale campaign apply to all years or just the ones after 2014+
Earlier in the thread, someone posted what was said to be an official Porsche document that listed the model ranges affected. IIRC, all 991.1 cars w/SC were on the list. But it also said that there was an additional list of specific VIN #'s.
I mention this because I am going in for minor service tomorrow on my 991.1 GTS with PDK and SC+. I asked my SA about it, and at first he said no, there are no recalls for your car. I said no...not a recall...a Stop Sale. After a few minutes, he said he did find some info about it, but when he ran my VIN, he said my car was not part of the Stop Sale.
Store that under "another piece of anecdotal information that may or may not turn out to be fully accurate when the dust on this issue finally settles".
But it also said that there was an additional list of specific VIN #'s.
FYI it said there was an attached list of VINs for vehicles IN INVENTORY. That doesn't mean a list of all VINs currently affected that are in the wild. I take that to mean that these are VINs that are currently at Porsche dealers ready for sale.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But it seemed like the table of it was pretty clear on "If you have this model year of this particular model w/Sport Chrono, the stop sale applies to you"

Fair enough on the VIN list referring to only cars in inventory. I really have no idea what database my SA used to run my VIN and conclude it was not affected. From the various posts in the thread, it would appear that not all dealers have the same level of information to work from.
But if I get porked out of my 10% Off Coupon for Porsche Lifestyle Products, its going to be hell to pay for someone. :-)

Yeah, definitely sounds like not everyone (dealers) are on the same page. I'm gonna sit back and until it gets squared away. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying my car.
Some folks here have been told by their dealers that sales of MT cars are no longer blocked by Porsche. On the other hand, I haven't seen anything that clearly says the stop sale order applied to Canadian Porsche dealers in the first place.
