So I'm a bit confused by all of this after reading through much of this thread. What's the takeaway? There are 991.1 cars in dealer inventory WITH sport chrono, both PDK and MT. I see them online, and have seen them in person, including one I am seriously considering. Would you buy today off of a dealer lot a CPO'd 2016 C4S 991.1 MT w/SC, or would you pass because of the speculation in this thread? Curious to hear opinions.

There's one in the Marketplace from Euroclassics, I was shocked they can sell it. They say they can sell it with an existing CPO but cannot CPO the car again. Bottom line is if you find a car for you, buy it. Nothing related to this stop sale should have any affect on an owner of the car. If they find there needs to be a fix, it will be a TSB or recall. If Porsche loses a lawsuit and has to pay owners, you'll get paid, I would assume. The suspicion is that Porsche may have manipulated the car when it was first certified and for that they may be held liable to someone to some degree. Speculation, yes, totally. There is nothing "wrong" with the car or the models mentioned aside from they may not be as green as published when released. My two cents. YMMV.

If you buy one from a Porsche dealer please share your experience in this thread. My suspicion is they don't sell from a Porsche dealer at all until this ends.

Could be a consignment. Local dealer here had a 16 GTS SC, I asked them how they can sell it, they said it's consignment so it's not technically "in" their inventory. Otherwise no. Plus some dealers have them listed even though they can't sell them. I went through that with Porsche Exchange.

That was what I assumed, they listed and can't sell but the gentleman, Justin, says they can sell it. Maybe it is consignment like you said, would that be considered a private party/transferrable CPO sale in Porsche's eyes?

My salesman said Porsche dealers can only "pre-sell" them, which I think means that they can advertise the ones in their inventory, take your money and prepare the paperwork, but can't actually deliver the cars for the time being. Consignments are not affected by the stop sale order, so far as I can tell.

Good question, not sure how that plays out. They may be able to pass it thru as a private party sale.

Got a call from Porsche Larchmont that the stop sale had been lifted. The car here was on a stop sale until today. They did not know what the fix, if there was any was. http://express.porschelarchmont.com/...AB2A92GS123109

Wow... Interesting news and potentially good news (unless you were someone expecting a check) 🤣

Anyone have any more info on this? Why do I have a feeling that even though the stop sale may be lifted, this isn't over?

This is far from over, but the lawyers probably realized that preventing only Porsche dealers from reselling cars was not affecting things in any way beyond pissing off customers looking to buy and sell.

Can’t say I was expecting a check but sure was hoping for one so I could buy my new exhaust 😆

I got a message from my sales rep today and my understanding is that only the manuals have been released from the stop sale. The pdk c4s that I have a deposit on is still under the stop sale.

That makes more sense.

Yes but if there is some type of reparation in the end, wouldn't holding the cars potentially save Porsche some money?

Do the Porsche lawyers care if customers are pissed off? Won't they be more pissed off when they find out they bought a car that was sold while some type of emissions scandal was being investigated?

I also heard from a dealer that it's been lifted for manual cars. PDK still subject to stop sale.
