The height information is in the dealer spec sheets. I'll post them for you later but it's all been posted I think already...

Pete. Just finished watching the Hartley YouTube video on the 991 RS. Look it up on YouTube. Can't believe It's only had 100 views. He's a kiwi as you know and has some seat time in 991 GT3 here in NZ. Anyway it's not some marketing footage more real world. I keep thinking how tall the RS looks even tho only 17mm at the front axle. But the thick front splitter and the higher sidewall rear tyres is throwing my eye.
We know the car is 22mm higher than the GT3. Obviously 17nn suspension which compresses between 200-300 kmph and the another 5mm or so for the bubbles on the roof.
So what happens to the COG advantages AP talks about with 1kg roof, 4kg rear glass, 5kg for the two front fenders and /kg for CF hood? Surely a 22mm higher car would offset weight reduction COG up till 200++ kmph? Seems an odd argument to me.

If it was my car, however, and I'm living in the US the first thing I'd do is look at the tracks I run and lower the car accordingly. If I'm topping out at 135 mph at Laguna I'll be making half the downforce I would on the autobahn, meaning I can probably safely drop the car around 10mm right off the bat. You'd need to be careful with the math and aero balance, but I suspect the higher ride height could be academic for many owners. Even if it's not I'd clearly want to run higher and with the extra downforce than lower and without it...

Front:
GT3: 245/35-20 = 67.945 cm tall with center of tire at 33.97 cm
RS: 265/35-20 = 69.342 cm tall with center of tire at 34.67 cm
Rear:
GT3: 305/30-20 = 69.088 cm tall with center of tire at 35.54 cm
RS: 325/30-21= 72.847 cm tall with center of tire at 36.42 cm
So, the center of the RS front tire is 7mm taller than the GT3 and the center of the RS rear tire is 8.8mm taller

"Until the present time, there were only two shades of solid, non-metallic 'Orange' approved for PTS at Porsche re: 991/981. They are 'Pastel Orange', color code Z17....

The latter is a historic/vintage early 911 color which was recently approved for PTS on the 991/981 and was last used as a PTS on the 997.
*************
The orange 'special color' developed for the MY2007/2008 .1 997 gt3 RS was phased out as a PTS after MY2010 due to technical issues with the color. That color was called 'RS Orange' and had color code 8C6...

Another historic/vintage color from the early 1970's - 'Continental Orange' /color code 107 - was requested recently via PTS and denied. Quite unfortunate since it's a very striking shade of orange!

'Blutorange or Tangerine' is another historic/vintage Porsche color from the early 911/914 period. It's color code 018...

But unfortunately it was not approved for PTS on the 991/981 after a formal request from someone I helped obtain the color sample above!

At the time it was rejected, there surfaced speculation that a new 'orange' color similar to the old 'Blutorange/Tangerine' was in the works for the upcoming 991 gt3 RS and that was the reason the above request was denied.
***********************
That rumor was confirmed yesterday when the new 991 gt3 RS was introduced at the Geneva Auto Show. One of the two special colors offered as exclusive (for the present time) on that model is 'Lava Orange'. It's a dark orange hue with some similarities to the vintage/historic 'Blutorange/Tangerine' color that is talked about above. However 'Lava Orange' is probably a new color formulation specifically developed for this model & will likely carry a unique color code rather than '019'. We don't yet know it's specific Porsche color code...although a VW Group website has identified it as 'H2'. The other special color developed exclusively for the 991 gt3 RS is the 'Ultraviolet' seen also below:

'Lava Orange' looks the business on the 991 gt3 RS, especially when exposed to the sun!

I anticipate it will be able to be ordered on any 991/981 as an approved PTS color after one year or two, once it's exclusivity for the gt3 RS model is allowed to lapse."

But here is something else to help you evaluate the 'oranges':

From Left to Right
Blutorange aka blood orange aka tangerine 018
Signal Orange 116
997 GT3RS Orange 8C6 (in the flesh on a whole car it looked lighter)
Gulf Orange 019
No one to date (at least on the 991/981 era) has requested 'Signal Orange' as PTS. This is an absolutely lovely color from the early 911 longhood era. It's stunning in person. I hope someone will custom order 'Signal Orange' once PTS is resume in MY2016.

I am hoping it's not a metallic. In the .1 997 gt3 RS 'special colors', both 'RS Green' and 'RS Orange' were solids.

I hope history repeats itself here and 'UltraViolet' is also a solid like 'Lava Orange'. I must admit to all of you that I find it odd that here we are a few days after the official debut at Geneva and Porsche has chosen NOT to show us yet a photo or video of the alternative 'Special Color' for this 991 gt3 RS! I think that is rather unprecedented...and very peculiar. And I don't have a clue as to why the mystery.

Thanks Peter. Agree with what you say. Cant imagine it would be difficult to drop the car 5-10mm.
Jon70. I think you are onto something there and why the car looks taller than the GT3. The side-walls are taller.

I am with Eduardo. I have no idea why we cant see pictures of the ultraviolet. The Porsche Code I sent to my dealer for configuration is in that color, because I think it will just be very funky and cool with PCCB, black wheels, etc. But if I do get an allocation and purchase, unless I can see the ultraviolet in the flesh, might chicken out and do orange, which I think is probably the safer of the two
