I know a number of people have posted saying this , but I got a message from my dealer today asking me to look over the configutor ( is that a word ? ) and let him know where I stand . Of course I've done almost nothing else since it became active yesterday so it wasn't a problem giving him a code number . At this point going with Lava , standard interior , standard brakes , no lift , no sport chrono , and just a 6 disc CD . Taking the floor mats , cargo net , fire extinguisher , and painted washer nozzles . On the fence on the Lion battery . There was a tiny bit of me wanting to delete the A/C and radio and then I remembered that for the last 26 years I've only driven my Clubsport in the fall to avoid the heat . Older and wiser ? - not sure . He was very busy on the phone doing the RS , GT4 , and he said the '' Turbo S '' - is there something new coming I don't know about or did he mean a GT2 RS ? Didn't query him further . No word on delivery and he didn't want me to run down and throw more money at him right now either . All in all I figured it was a good sign .

Pete. Just finished watching the Hartley YouTube video on the 991 RS. Look it up on YouTube. Can't believe It's only had 100 views. He's a kiwi as you know and has some seat time in 991 GT3 here in NZ. Anyway it's not some marketing footage more real world. I keep thinking how tall the RS looks even tho only 17mm at the front axle. But the thick front splitter and the higher sidewall rear tyres is throwing my eye.
We know the car is 22mm higher than the GT3. Obviously 17nn suspension which compresses between 200-300 kmph and the another 5mm or so for the bubbles on the roof.
So what happens to the COG advantages AP talks about with 1kg roof, 4kg rear glass, 5kg for the two front fenders and /kg for CF hood? Surely a 22mm higher car would offset weight reduction COG up till 200++ kmph? Seems an odd argument to me.

The correction is there because all piston speeds are not created equal. If you go purely by piston speed a small piston and a large piston would "score" the same if they have the same stroke and RPM, despite the fact that a big piston is going to be heavier and thus create more stress.

Well, AP claims they listen. We'll see. No shortage of people asking for a manual GT3/RS. Ultimately for PAG it comes down to whether they can make enough money to justify.....
"Speaking in Geneva, Preuninger said, ‘This is just the beginning of the era. I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn’t even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it.
‘We underestimated the success of the Cayman GT4, which shows that we were right with the concept. In England, within three days two years of cars were sold. It happened in Sweden, it happened in Germany…everywhere.’
Preuninger also explained his decision to only offer a manual gearbox on the Cayman GT4, saying ‘We put a manual in it for good reason – to show people that we listened.’ Clearly, then, Porsche Motorsport is responsive to its customers’ demands. If enough people call for a Cayman GT4 RS, it might just happen…"

I'm a big fan of titanium, if I kept my 3 I was going to buy an Akra exhaust for $8k to $12k. Most probably the $12k evolution one, so it makes a pretty big dent in the GT3 to RS price difference.

It's on the Porsche site where the RS info is. It's a series of 3 or 4 vids.

This is what I thought of. I have a special place in my heart for purple cars. I had a Plum Crazy Dodge Demon in high school. A GT3RS will be the most exspesive PTS car ever... I was convincing myself I didn't need it until, or couldn't justify it, till I saw the purple.
